Signlab upgrade from v9.1 to V11

Well I am a little annoyed.
I contacted our local Signlab representative/dealer to upgrade from V9.1 to V11 as we are beginning to have issues with some adobe filesnot importing in now.
We have 5 copies of Signlab 9.1 and have been told 9.1 is not upgradable and they only will accept upgrades from V10 (Probably when Fiery took over from Cadlink).
We have been quoted £9,975.00+VAT@20% !!!!!

I guess we will be sticking with V9.1 until it becomes completely unusable and then I will be moving over to Corel or something which has seen some sort of delopment.
Because on downloading the trial version of V11 nothing really has changed.

What is everyones thoughts on this?

Well was thinking about it but......nope. Been a customer over 25 years. If that's the way you treat loyal customers well, bye. Too much software to choose from just to cut vinyl. But I do love my signlab, been a great product. Hope it continues to serve a few more years til I go fishing and stay there.

Nothing much has changed. You may well still have exact same issues importing the same ai or pdf files.
The printer profiles are much better though, and so is the profiling module.

I bought v11 when they had 50% off. I'm still not using it, as it's on my "new" computer which I bought around the same time and I still haven't swapped into it yet (after 2 years).
So, I'm still using SL8 and Win7.

I would wait till you need to upgrade for real reasons, like you bought a new printer so need the new drivers, profiles etc.

Meanwhile, get Affinity - they just updated and released the whole suite for free. It handles file imports well so you can edit and re-save those files with embedded gradients and masks

Just upgrade one design station and export all the files out of that station to the remaining work stations,
BUT if it is AI files you are having problems with, you will still need to export them as Version 8 to get them into signlab
we still have stations running V5 - V9 -V10, profile lab and engraver lab and all versions have the same import problem,
solution for us is to design all files in illustrator and save a copy in version 8 to import into signlab

Have you tried SignLab v10? Version 10 is identical to version 11.
I'm using a SignLab v11 with an activation code; no dongle required.

Both are almost identical to version 9.1.

We just upgraded the thing that bothers me only works on one computer no dongle . I have to buy another design station if I want to use it with out the cut feature which is another 800 plus. Going to try and do without to see how it goes. We were told you could use on two computers just had to log one off. But no it’s completely deregulate and then log onto the other computer. We upgraded windows, computers plotters so had to upgrade Signlab as well. Has been working great thought no problem and works with the new Graphtec as well.
