If you are in the market right now for a phone... give the HTC Hero and Motorola Droid a serious look. They are both driven by Google's Android OS and they are Open Source. Very kick ass. The Hero (I'm assuming the Droid too) can scale web pages to fit the screen and it recompiles text as you zoom. Making looking at web pages 1000% easier and more user friendly. iPhone doesn't to that. That post of Jillbeans is a perfect example... when you zoom in on the Android OS, all of her text would be visible, and no side scrolling to read everything.
I'm picking up the Hero tomorrow, after I've had several weeks of shopping around and comparing smart phones. Then I had a hands on, in depth demo of the Hero and the Android interface today. I'm impressed. And I'm usually a Mac kind of guy. These things run circles around the iPhone!
Reason I'm finally moving up to a Smart Phone... in the field proof checking! I can have my designers email me screen shots or .pdf's of the work they are working on, while I'm at the pool, er, I mean bringing in more clients...

I can proof, correct and make comments instantly and on the road!
