Subscription Mouse!

My mom used to have a Llama to guard their sheep. His name was Pete.
Those can even by more aggressive. While the number one question that I get is about the alpacas spitting on me (something that they haven't done even during sheering (and I've had alpacas for a little over 2 decades now), Llamas tend to be do that more frequently in my experience.

Interesting with a little bit of different info about this: article

Now, I do like my Rolex watches (big fan of Submariner and Daytona, but I digress), but I would like them less if they had a subscription model. It's not analogous.

Just getting a little tired of this lazy method of getting perpetual money thru some type of subscription service.
agree this is a strange thing
UPD: first i read your message and did not noticed an article, my bad i wrote stupid things.
UPD2: the subscription model is a new trend and i hate is so much. Thyre just taking our cash for no reason example with watches, just imagine company like
Rollex or Patek trying to grab some money for you just to unlock some complications.
Feels very weird.

I'll argue quite the opposite. Rolex never released a digital watch, instead leaning into the quality and craftsmanship required to produce a high end analog chronometers.

I have never actually considered logitech high end. I liked their mxmaster mouse, that was around $100 when I got it (I'm either stylus or keyboard at this point, rarely use a traditional mouse, so I haven't kept up with it too much). But what's typically the higher end, $160-$170? Maybe they do have some high end models that I am missing, they could have added some, shoot with inflation what I'm thinking of as high end may be mid range by now.

One thing to consider, those that are getting high end items, actually like to own said high end item. Only exceptions to that that will rent are the ones that like to have an ultra high end car for a day or weekend, but after that, they aren't renting indefinitely. If wanting to go indefinite, have to come down the on the price and make it worth renting versus wanting to outright own something. Given what some charge for subscriptions services, they want their cake and eat it too.

There are some things that make sense as a subscription service, I still may not like it, because it's yet another one, but I can understand it far more compared to something like a computer mouse, or heated seats in a high end car where the equipment is already in the car (although I do think this was dropped, but they wanted to do it) and it's just a one time connection to allow it's operation.

I use a Razer naga from 2010 era - The new Naga is larger... And the buttons for forward / Backward changed.

My naga broke about 5 years ago... thats when I figured out the new one was different. It hurts my wrist to use it... And I tried like 5 different mice / brands and I just couldn't find one with the Macros I need that didn't kill my wrist.

I found a guy on Ebay selling them for $200 a pop brand new.... and I bought all 5 he had. Spent close to $1000 on mice so that I never had to change the form factor again! I'd love a "Forever mouse" if it was this exact same mouse.

Same with the keyboard... It took me a year to find something comparable to my Logitech G19... Nothing is as good, I ended up with a Corsair with a whopping 6 programmable buttons. Wish I could find some new in box G19's that arent in the 1K range....
Yes, the Razer Naga was the best! Mine wore out, so I tried a lot of different mice and it always ended in hand cramps. I switched to all 3Dconnexion stuff: mouse, keyboard, spacepilot and numpad.
