Need Help Tech Question - Roland VS-640

Carriage board is the head board. Proper name is print carriage board.

Were they new heads and dampers? As the problem, at least from what I've experienced and heard of, is that when you remove the dampers, if they are still full, the ink leaks out into the inside of the head and fries it. The only way I've successfully re-used a head, is by emptying out the lines so that there is barely anything left in the dampers, flipping it upside down and removing the dampers and installing new ones. My recommendation would be to inspect the heads you are trying to see if there is any ink that leaked, and if so, then it is pretty much guaranteed that head is n

Sounds like a swirling money pit of despair with the parts cannon aimed at it.

Send it down the road or throw it in the pickers and get a new printer.

As long as it works ok then don't worry Half the problem when the go wrong is people either trying to fix them themselves without knowing what they are doing, or they get a bad technician to work on it

We had 2 different technicians work on it, and replaced all the parts mentioned in this tread.
When they wanted to go and replace them all again, I said forget it!
The printer had more than paid for itself by this point, and I am happy with the new printer we have purchased, well for he most part!

that's great mate, wish i had seen your post back then but oh well. A newer machine is always better.

Be mindful that the 4 short ribbon cables are not all the same.
