burns my a$$.
I won't mention the name, but this kinda attitude just p!sses me off to no end.
Called for some prices on 1 mm PVC from various distributors. Price doesn't matter, but I ended up ordering it from one distributor with about a 30% savings and told them it had to be clean as we were flatbed printing to it. The guy says, so ?? If it ain't clean, we hafta clean it and then it doesn't pay us to go with you, does it ?? Alright, well it's clean. We'll have it there tomorrow morning. Got a call this morning, it ain't clean, so they hafta order new stock in for me, as well as for themselves. However, this stuff will cost more and it puts it up, almost as high as the other quotes. I asked him why ?? Well, in order to get it to you in time, we have to get it somewhere else and the cost went up drastically. So...... how is this my fault and I hafta pay more money for what you already quoted me ?? It just is. Okay, forget it. But I already ordered it !! So did I, but you failed, so I don't want it at your new price. Good-bye.
Ordered from one of the others and they'll have it here Monday. Although they cost a little more than what the other guy went up to, I really want to do business with them, cause they've been with me a long time.
When I can save 15% or more, my loyalty becomes questioned. I want to do business with whom I want, but sometimes business decisions are subject to change personal desires.
With all of this, the same thing goes for our customers, so we try to keep everything very competitive. We don't lowball and we certainly don't gouge. Others do it to us, but eventually that stuff comes back to bite ya...... so whether it's being done to you or you're doing to others, be careful when making business decisions. Don't raise your prices because something is inconvenient. Hold on to your integrity and be fair.
