I was chitchatting on the phone with Stacey K (i was looking for vendors for a project). I had to hang up the phone to answer my business line...The call went like this:

Caller: I'm looking for liner for a banner
Me: could you give me a little more information?
caller: i have this 3 ft x 20 ft banner that has a sticky backing and i'm trying to preserve it. Its all folded on itself and I need to separate it out. See, I already did another one with a hair dryer and it took way too long to do. so I was wondering if I could pay ya'll to do it.
Me: sir, that's not something we do. that's considered consumable and can't be saved. I can definitely print you a new one and sell that to you.
caller: No, the front of this one is just fine and i just don't want it to be sticky on the back. I want to be able to take it and put it in my man cave
me: how did you obtain this 3 ftx20 ft "banner"?
caller: There were some guys in a cherry picker pulling it off a wall and they balled it up and I took it
me: see, when they balled it up, it was meant for trash.
caller: well I want to preserve it. It took me entirely too long to pull the other one apart and I just want to pay someone to pull it apart
me: sir, that's not something we would do (yes, i said it again). I have liner. if you want to purchase liner from me, I can certainly sell you some.
caller: well, I'll just hire some day labors for $150 and get them to pull it all apart and then come buy the liner from you.
me: yes sir, that's fine.

It's scary to think the caller has probably bred and contributed to the gene pool. I wouldn't want to waste time with that "customer" at all.

He said that some guys were up in a cherry picker pulling it off of a building and balled it up and dropped it. He snagged it like it was gold.

It figures the caller would be an older guy. That reminds me of a phone call from several years ago; this guy was older too. He was calling us about putting graphics on his road side mail box. He wanted me or someone from our shop to drive from Lawton clear down to f***king Vernon, TX to talk to him about this really important project. Of course he had to mention he didn't want to spend much money. I told him we only do work for businesses and don't do personal projects. He started chewing on my ass after that response. I said whatever he was willing to pay probably wouldn't cover the time and fuel cost for driving to Vernon just to talk about the job, much less the cost of doing the actual work. The asshole still demanded I take care of it anyway. I hung up on the guy. Just friggin' ridiculous!!

I'm not usually the one answering the phones here, but no one else happened to be around in the office at the time. My bad luck!

lets start with, what a lucky man, he found a "banner" that was already printed with what he wanted...
thats why it was worth preserving
