Transitioning from Cleaning Cartridge to White Ink (Roland BN20)

Hi... I haven't used spot white on my BN20 before, only had the cleaning cartridge in it. I have my file set up correctly and I have White printing in Versaworks, but it just comes out clear(?) on both white and black vinyl; you can see that something has printed but it's not white.

I promise all of my file settings are correct, it's not that. I am wondering if it is the cleaning cartridge fluid or something?

This is a newbie question, I appreciate all help -- Thank you!

Hi, I printed many such rectangles and finally the hose has white. But now it is not printing out, nor is the clear. ....!!!!! Do you have any suggestions?

Update: some white is printing in the rectangle now... great! Suggestions for further improvement? Keep printing? (It is white on black vinyl)

OK Sorry for my third post in a row... I cannot figure out how to download Versaworks profiles for BN20. I go to the website and it seems like there is nothing for Orajet products. So the only way I got this to print was some weird profile, maybe that's why it looks like this? Could you help me figure out how to download other profiles for Versaworks? Thank you for your help and suggestion with printing the rectangles.

Just try the generic vinyl. There are no profiles to print on black vinyl. At least not that im aware of.

building your own profiles is the only way to go
especially printing on black

Hi, my "Generic Vinyl 1" doesn't allow White, only the "SP-CLT" allows white for the materials I have. Where can I download other profiles for BN-20? Where do I get just regular Generic?? Thank you!

How's the white ink looking on the nozzle check? White solvent ink isn't great, but that banding looks like a lot of missing nozzles.

Hi, thank you for your message, here is what it looks like. Looks the same after "Normal Cleaning" too. I am afraid to run too many cleanings-- is that wrong? What should I do?

Update: I did a couple Medium cleanings and it came out much better. The printing isn't perfect but it is improved. Looks cool on the black vinyl.

I WOULD SUGGEST shaking all your cartridges weekly
yellow and black TWICE A WEEK
white DAILY

those 3 all have a very high amount of solids in suspension. AT BEST settling will give you uneven colors during the life of the cartridge
AT WORST it will kill your head

60 seconds of shake for each cartridge is enough
