Translucent Printing for backlit outdoor

What is best for translucent applications , printing on the white material and then putting that on clear plastic??? I have done some on White polycarb and the color washes big time. Any suggestions would be appreciated I am using a JV3 130 SPII with Flexi Sign Pro 8.5. I do use 16 pass.

We use Oracal 3850 and double strike the print. Looks great on clear or sign-white plex.
