Trying to get a ROLLAND CAM 1 PRO GX 500 to cut using an old version of Flexi Photo print

I bought a new printer last month and decided to give my old jv3 to my screen printer to help him make more sales on small runs of decals for his clients. Along with the printer I gave him the computer with the Flexi photo print software. He found a plotter with an electronic eye (ROLLAND CAM 1 PRO GX 500) to cut graphics...unfortunately that plotter is much newer than the software and I can't seem to find drivers for it in the software.. Any suggestions on what to do? We have sent a few jobs to it but we can't even figure out how it goes about detecting the registration marks.

I've never had any luck doing print cut with anything but the correct driver. You can usually fake them out if you're just cutting (ie sending data one direction only). but if you're reading registration marks, then the data flows 2 directions and things get confused. I think there are smart HPGL drivers now that may be able to do it, but I doubt your older Flexi software has those.

Look for the CSM files in the photoprint folder. Then look for the roland.csm. You can open it in notepad and modify the file, copy an existing loadout and paste it at the bottom. Change the name to GX500. Then change the parameters for the cutter aka "width". Then chnge the name of the old csm file, then resave the new one as "Roland.csm"
