UCJV330 x SUMMA S CLASS 3 (Help)

Good day to all

Hoping I can gain some advice please, I am looking to purchase a Mimaki UCJV330 along with

Summa S Class 3 S160 TC-Series 63” 1600mm Cutter OPOS-PRO CAM S3TC160​

I have done some research and from what I can understand, trying to achieve a print and cut workflow running through Rasterlink 7 is going to be very difficult or at least not the most efficient.

Predominantly, we produce stickers with multi layer gloss and looking to speed up the print and cut workflow by introducing the summa cutter

Whats the best software or methods to make everything a simple and efficient process, im not keen on having to have a barcode for every single sticker if I was to use rasterlink to do my print nesting?

I have read that Flexi would be a better alternative but then it has its cons when running a mimaki printer its not as good as rasterlink 7?

Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated

We do a Summa cutter and a Ucjv300, we generate our prints in another program and export it into raster link for the print section. For multi layer, we just generate a separate pdf that lines up and create a clear or white plate from that, composite and the layers and print.

Assuming GoSign behaves like GoProduce, you could generate marks in Coreldraw/Illustrator and generate a print file for RL and a separate cut file to load up in GoSign.

Thanks guys, ill try re-explaining my thoughts as best I can: I want to use rasterlink to make my copies of one sticker file for example as opposed to laying this out manually in illustrator multiple times, however how does summa register the layout produced in rasterlink and the amount of copies? because adding the summa reg marks in illustrator to the single sticker would mean generating multiple copies of reg marks for every sticker which seems like its not the best method?

Basically, no real way to do that in rasterlink. No native support for non Mimaki cutters and I don't know of a way to add it. Maybe a third party software like onyx, but it's going to be a lot more expensive than the $50 for a copy of RasterLink 7.

Yes, you would need to set up your copies etc in illustrator.

We do this with certain files in Corel, then print from Onyx then load cut file in GoProduce. This allows us more control over registration mark placement and nesting etc.

You can take it a step further and use something like a eCut plugin that can do true shape nesting before outputting your files.

Thank you, I have done some further research and from what I have discovered so far I can use either Onyx or EasySIGN software to bridge the gap between the printer and cutter, so the easysign software does the nesting and from there I can send the print to rasterlink and the cutfile to summas software, if correct this seems like the smoothest workflow thats going to save on setup time and having to have multiple bardcode registerations

Haha I like your style, ill have a look at this, will it provide the same usage I am trying to achieve?
