I posted inquiry about the wrong printer...my SC-500 is fine, but my Fj-52 conversion printer is what I am having problems with. I uploaded some pictures of print test and one is the demo print. When I converted this printer I flushed all the lines from the water based inks, installed new capping station, dampers, both print heads and a new pump, all new bulk ink cartridges and eco solvent ink. The printers set for Black, Cyan, Magenta, Lc, Lm, Yellow, and set for pigment ink since there is no settings for eco solvent ink on this printer. Make long story short I am not getting a good print test as you can see on the pictures I took. Sure could use some advice to get this printer to print..Thanks,

That test print is not one that I have seen. Is it from an older firmware or where are you printing that test print from?

The normal test print will show every line (nozzles) in the head (for each color) and if you are missing any. This is a test print from the cleaning button on the pannel. Arrow down to get to the test print. The last firmware was 5.4 for that printer. Once you can see if any nozzles are missing then you can check other things. I would think from the photos you are missing a bunch of nozzles but from a solid block test print you can't tell how bad it is.

What drain lines are you using? Just in case don't use the original waterbased ones but run the pump line direct to the drain bottle and mount the bottle in front of the printer just below the pump.

table hockey, I am not sure if this printer been updated to the 5.4 firmware since I got it used..what will I looking for once I get into Service mode? I think I understand what you mean and did print out a nozzle print test and it looks like a bunch of lines are missing..how could that be..there are all new heads in the printer. Also I did reroute the pump lines, it's up front of the printer now and has all new 4x2mm. lines (pump Lines) all the way to the dump.

To start with, you can try to get all the nozzles working or best as possible and then do the same test print with the hi-fi jet logo.

Click on my avitar to go to my home page. I have posed a few things about our printers and what to do if certain things happen.

Check your drain lines for blockage. Remove the pump line from the captop at the capping station and see if you can blow air through with a syringe. If not use some cleaning fluid and work that through with the syringe to loosen the blockage. You may have some dried up ink in some of the nozzles so you may also have to do a head soak or you can try to just hook the syringe with a small length of tube to the left captop and park the heads on the capping station and draw ink into the syringe through the captop. This will at least charge the head but may not be enough to clear the blockages. If you do run some cleanings just do the reg. cleaning as the power ones just waste ink.

You can try to fill a captop with cleaning fluid and park the heads on them to soak. Might need to clamp the drain line to hold the fluid in the captop. Most times after this that clear line under the captop gets ink in it and will then need to be either blown out or remove the captop and unplug that line if its plugged.

I tend to try a cleaning swab with cleaning solution on it, and gently press it up under the blocked head (in your case the Mag or left side of the head) press up only do not rub then run a cleaning and try again with a test print. Rubbing will ruin the head so be careful.

As far as the firmware goes, it should say on the pannel on startup. It is an easy fix to install the latest firmware if needed.

You won't need the service menu for this stuff.

Now if it is a brand new head it may just have not been charged with ink enough to get every nozzle working. A new head can take up to 6 to 8 cleanings to get it going. The odd time one or two nozzles won't fire but a week or so later may start up.
