I've tried. But constantly get called a moron, or other names, so what's the point in being nice?
I even tried an offhand comment saying she's smarter than that to believe some random rumbling, but still got called a moron for it.... But then it's always turned around as I'm the one name calling and attacking her, you try to be politically correct / nice, but it just gets you accusations and called names, so what's good for the goose is good for the gander I guess

I like to read and hear different points of view... Im not in the camp of "my teams better than you nananana booboo". But when you see people name calling and being rude, doesn't matter if what you're saying is "right" or "wrong", it sounds dumb. You questioning her intelligence, she calling you a moron .. both sound unintelligent and people that would really contribute to the discussion just stay out of it because it's been brought down so low. There ain't THAT many of us on this forum, what 30-50 semi regular people? Hate to see y'all attack each other. Go after the real idiots and AI bots here.

No need for an Apology, I never take things personal - We can insult eachothers political views in this thread, then 5 minutes later talk shop in another thread like nothing ever happened
People naturally feel strongly about politics, so things tend to always get heated - I never take what people say personally...and never mean to come off as saying things on a personal level either, so hopefully you view it / feel it the same and theres never hard feelings! I'm sure this wont be the last time we snap at eachother if we keep the political talk going...so pre-apology for any insenitive comments as well, and just know despite whatever is said,or what your views are, I still think highly of you! Thats what my "You're smarter than that" comment was... it wasnt meant as a jab, I was genuinly saying you're smart and hopefully can see past the what seems to be insane theories...Probably why I gave up and made a snide comment when I was trying to be some-what nice, in my own way, so sorry as well I don't have anything against people who like trump, or think that theyre stupid for doing so - Some of my best friends are hardcore right, trump lovers. I get, and agree with some of the stuff he does - I just don't think he's the right person for it. And I think some of the stuff he does... and some of the stuff people believe... is genuinely stupid, and I don't get why people eat it up - Thats not to say the people who believe it are stupid... or even slightly less smart for believing it... Some people just believe in stuff others find stupid. I believe with how big the galaxy is, some planet, somewhere has aliens... There could be some green guy sitting at a computer typing about signs as we speak, a million light years away - A good percentage of the population would say thats a stupid idea, and god made man and woman and not aliens! Just because an idea is stupid to one person, doesn't make it stupid to the person who believes it - at least thats how I view it.

My wife Hates trump - I can't talk anything political with here because it makes her blood boil. If I mention anything he's doing and say I think its a good idea... I just get an evil glare, if I say he's an idiot for doing things a certain way... I just get a nod. So I like to ramble / debate on here - see it from other peoples view points, get rebuttals on my viewpoints... have a somewhat proper discussion of back and fourth, much more fun that way!
If everyone here was Anti trump, or Pro trump... it'd be boring and this thread would have ended on page 1.

I'm still not sure if he's a bot, or a troll, or what. His responses arent just chatgpt like responses, but they're also...robotic, he acts pro trump, but It feels like an act to get a rise out of people - You can tell everyone else here has reasons for their viewpoints...where as his just feels like he googles the question, then copy pastes a response to fit his narrative. almost every post was seen as a 90+% chance to be chatgpt written until I pointed that out to him... then they coincidentally started to come back as they dont appear to be chatgpt responses in the checker. Either way... It didn't feel like a human talking / posting, it felt very generic and mundane, with no emotion to the responses... It's hard to believe a smallish forum like S101 would have a russian bot though, so I'm still 50/50 on if its a human or not

I grew up in the 50-60s and there were people to watch out for [a-holes] but in general people were much more pleasant IMHO. I have only had a cell phone less than 10 years and we got a TV when I was a senior in HS- don't remember ever really watching it. I was working on cars- wasted a lot of my ample life on cars- still like 'em but can find a younger stud to work on them [mostly]. I am old but not a fossil, studied computers and programming in '65-6-7 and love me some technology [this was a tech school BTW]. I was watching a program on us Boomers and why we are like we are, Each successive generation had different circumstances and each has a different leaning about them, Makes life interesting if you let it and don't feel you have to kill who you are talking to because they disagree.
