Have you seen what Trump's doing with ice? you're blind if you really think he's just deporting criminals. Ikaruasu - where do all the teenagers work in Canada? Being a mom of a 20/24 yr olds, many of their friends never worked, mommy's just paid for everything. Both my boys who are white worked for a landscaper and still bay hay and do farm work for their grandparents. The reason their white friends never did the work is because their parents never made them. Back when I was a teen most of my friends worked at Hardees or Burger King with one friend working at a gas station. Even the rich kids back then had some kind of job.

I don't care what anyone says, I think most of the teenagers these days WON'T or don't HAVE to work - I saw it with my own eyes! And that's a Gen X parenting issue.

20 years ago they were all staffed by teens. I think teens would be more than happy to do the jobs, but I don't think the managers want that.

Back then the jobs paid minimum wage because it was a stepping stone. Kids could learn responsibility, get their feet wet in the work force.... But it was a trade off. There are ups and downs to it... but imagine if all the people at your work were teens - how high the turn over rate is .. how much it'd cost you to re train employees... How inconsistent their hours are, etc. It's more cost effective to hire someone on a TFW here than it is to hire a teenager... So they do that.


Some teens do lawn mowing, babysitting... Grocery stores are usually filled with them. Me, I make my kid come to work - whenever were busy he tags along.. he gets minimum wage, and it's not a consistent thing, maybe once or twice a month. It gives him a sense of responsibility, as well as money to learn spending habits from.


And I do think teens don't want to work. This new generation is... Crazy. We have one guy under 20... And he shows up late everyday, and says he has "time blindness"... Look it up, apparently it's a "real disease". Of course when it stone to clock out it's never an issue. Back in my day you'd get fired and need to find a new job and your time blindness would cure instantly. My kids school is not allowed to send homework home... He's going into highschool next year, so I'm just praying high school isn't as dumbed down / easy. There's 5 kids in his class also about to goto high school who can't read.... And I truly believe it's because of lazyness, on their part, and the teachers (I shouldn't say lazyness on teachers part.... When you have 25 kids in a class they slip through the cracks and there isn't enough time for everyone), and not because they have some disability.

Brain rot is a real thing with the next generation.... And I think taking away responsibilities such as jobs as teens contributes to it.

Well, some times you just speak out, I am tired of many things that is happening, I have been here for 37 years and have seen a lot, a lot.

Economy do not know if is good or bad, but I know that things are getting expensive, and it will be more if tariffs keep raising, just imagine, 50% for Brazil.... 30% to Mexico, a coworker said, "we (as a country) got over 100 billion in tariffs, I said, great, and asked, do you know where this money is coming from?, he said from importers, I said, yes, but who at the end will pay for that money?, he stayed quiet, I replied to him, we will pay for those tariffs with more expensive goods.
We at the shop started to paid for just the material we need to use, (we used to keep a full roll of vinyl, at 24 or 30 inches in different colors until we run out, now we buy it per 10 yards, or as is needed.

We are making money on the tariffs now. It looks like inflation rate has slowed down in July.
It sounds like the reason why youre only keeping material you need would be because your business has slowed down. NOT because the prices have increased so much. I still buy my full rolls of 30inch oracal white, red and black.
I went back in my order history on fellers and looked at prices of Oracal 651 30" by the roll. in 2021, I paid $149.50 for a 50 yard roll. In 2022 I paid $158.00 for a 50 yard roll and in 2024 I paid $168.00. Those are pretty evenly distributed price increases.

I'm assuming you're bnringing up my idea of a TFW program for all the farmers and jobs that will be lost in USA due to all the mass deportations? I simply pointed out a way for them to legally work in the country without having a fear of being deported. There is 10-17 million illegals working in USA Right now, according to google... If you deport them, whos going to farm? who's going to do a lot of the construction jobs? Do you guys have 10-17 million people willing to work for minimum wage in back breaking jobs? I'm arguing for a way for them to not have to look over their shoulder or be afraid to show up for work because masked men will show up, throw them on a plane in chains and head coverings and deport them.


Then all the no one wants to do the low paying jobs - It's true... You can bury your head in the sand if you want, but look at cruise ships as an example. They register their boats in the bahamas so they dont have to pay a minimum wage... they hire 90% Foreigners in poor countries and pay them half of what the minimum wage is. $400-700 a month is what they pay these guys... While charging customers 10k a month. Do you think ANY America, or Canadian, or person from a first world country would take that job for $700 a month? I'm arguing that shit should be illegal, not that it's all immigrants are worth. NO ONE should be paid such a palty sum... In Canada They have a mininum wage, so all the fast food places HAVE to pay that... But if they had a choice I guarantee you they'd be paying TFW's less. I've wanted to fire him / write him up many times... but I'm told he's not easy to replace, and they deduct the time for his pay, so thats good enough. Plus he's the one who brought up time blindness... We looked into it and were told if we "punish" him by writing him up or firing him, it could lead to a lawsuit since it's a recognized "Disability" He's not in my department (He's an art room guy, office manages him) so I have no say in it.

It spreads though, one of my guys who hangs out with the artist started to do the same thing... Late every single day... Talking to them got no where, and even once I got the whole "but XXis late and no one ever says anything", I felt like it was wrong to penalize them when someone else is doing it, but eventually I got tired of it and gave them a write up. I told him I can't control the office... In the warehouse we work as a team, Him not being here at the same time as the team puts more workload on them, and it's not fair to them - They're not getting paid for the extra work load, so if office does it or not, we're better than that and support eachother. Being late once in awhile is ok... but it being a habbit means a write up, and could lead to termination. He said ok... Then was 10 minutes late the next day. He got a write up... And hasnt been late since.

Anyways... Like I said...talking to a wall. I'm glad your sample size of friends / people you know get paid well. If you do any research... ANY research you'll find theres a huge wage gap between illegals and non illegals, some economists say it's 8%, based on the illegals that file taxes, and say it's likelly higher due to all those that don't... some say it's 30%, but I couldnt find 1 site that said illegals are paid as fairly as non illegals... So you can turn a blind eye and say illegals are happy and un-discriminated against.

A lot of millionaires did not work for it, they inherited it. I have no issues with people having money, I have issues with people who have money, then take advantage of those that don't. Look at my disney cruise example - Do you think it's right for disney to rake in millions / billions and pay $200 a month for servers who work 12 hour days? They're hiring from low wage countries not out of the goodness of their heart... but to save some money. Theres a reason the turn over rate on cruises are so high. ANY research you'll find theres a huge wage gap between illegals and non illegals, some economists say it's 8%, based on the illegals that file taxes, and say it's likelly higher due to all those that don't... some say it's 30%, but I couldnt find 1 site that said illegals are paid as fairly as non illegals... So you can turn a blind eye and say illegals are happy and un-discriminated against.

A lot of millionaires did not work for it, they inherited it. I have no issues with people having money, I have issues with people who have money, then take advantage of those that don't. Look at my disney cruise example - Do you think it's right for disney to rake in millions / billions and pay $200 a month for servers who work 12 hour days? They're hiring from low wage countries not out of the goodness of their heart... but to save some money. Theres a reason the turn over rate on cruises are so high. Wanting people to be paid a FAIR wage isn't socialism...

Bill gates was pretty good with donating money, seemed down to earth, seemed like a great guy - Now it's coming out that he's been to epsteins island a bunch of times. Prince andrew, Bill clinton, all confirmed to have been to the island... Theres a reason both Democrats and republicans didnt release the info, people from both sides are on it. You got Pdiddy with his trafficking... Most rich people act above the law and do sick shit. My problem is how they've made the money, and how they act because of it, not that they have the money. Rich people are held to a much lower standard than anyone else... Money can buy you anything, and it usually does.

You're ok with how Amazon treats its workers, and how little pay they make? amazon had a gross proffit of 322 BILLION dollars - Yet theres still cases where people are forced to piss in a bottle because if they take a bathroom break they could get fired. If socialism is me saying a company shouldn't be made off the sweat and tears of their employees... I guess I'm a socialist. But hey, we could go back 200 years and make slavery legal again... What Amazon / Nestle and other multi billion dollar companies do is just a modern day slavery.

as for being jealous of their money... I've got enough to retire and live a comfy life, and I'm just hitting 40 - Thats all I need. I keep working because I want to... I don't need millions, nor do I want it, jealousy has nothing to do with it.

well it's clear youre out of touch with what illegals get paid here. One of the girls that was on my kids swim team, her parents were illegal. Her dad owned a landscaping company. He bought her a brand new truck when she graduated high school. They went on trips all the time. They didn't own a home, but, he got paid cash from his customers or cash app. that's just one example. I taught thousands of others just like that. they fed off the system because they had kids who were born here. So they made tons of money under the table, and got free benefits so they didn't have to pay for things. They all had braces (free dental). They all were up to date on their shots (free medical) and they all had the newest phones.

People are millionaires because they worked for it. But you don't seem to see that. you are jealous of their money and think we all deserve to have equal. but the problem is that when everyone gets the same amount, everyone loses and no one wins. You want minimum wage to be $27 an hour. If minimum wage is $27 an hour, what should your wage be?

I do semi lettering for an Armenian guys transport business. He had nice clothes, nice cars, it appeared he was doing quite well. Then I see in the newspaper that Habitat for Humanity built him a house. WHAT? No wonder he's doing well, he got a free house. In all fairness, he always paid his bill and never squabbled about it. His two gypsy uncles - another story. Both got kicked out of my shop, one by another customer for harassing me into giving them free vinyl.
