I've owned two vg2's for about 4 years now and have never had any major issues. However I can't seem to diagnose the problem I am having here. My orange print head just stopped printing after being unused for about 10 days. I've tried every cleaning mode available to no avail. Cap tops were replaced about 6 weeks ago. There is just such irregularity in the test prints post cleaning that I am not sure if it's a print head issue or nozzle issue. I was going to try service mode to do a damper fill but I wanted to get some insight before I go forward. Any information is greatly appreciated. Wish I found this forum years ago. Thanks in advance
Try the Fill Damper, you do not need service mode.
Turn the front power off.
While pressing and holding the PAUSE and ENTER buttons, press on the Power Switch.
Release all buttons, you should then be in FILL DAMPER mode.
Press enter.
SG users can just press enter to move on.
VG users can just select the A or B bank. Put cursor under the letter you
do not want and press up or down arrow to toggle off. Only the letter showing on the screen will perform the Fill Damper.
CHANGE TO NEW CARTRIDGE, you can just press enter. ***However, if any ink bag is very low the cycle may not complete. So, you can put a new bag in and use the one you took out later.
EMPTY DRAIN BOTTLE, you can press enter if the bottle is no more than half full, otherwise empty it.
Turn off front power switch and start normally.
