Vinyl & Lamination Match

How important is it to have the lamination that is recommended to go w/ a certain vinyl? Since getting my Laminator I've only been using what came with the unit and now it's time to order a new roll and some more vinyl. Any help is appreciated.

make sure to lam with cast if your using cast vinyl, and use cal. over lam with cal. vinyl. don't mix and match.

you can also use cast lam over calendared vinyl, but not vice versa.
