Werid Calibration Print Problem

I have a problem with my calibration print. If you take a loupe and look at the printed pattern the nozzle pattern should be like this for each square:

- - - - - -
- - - - -
- - - - - -
- - - - -

But when my printer does the first pass the blocks on the first pass the very top line the pattern isn't staggered so its like this
----------
- - - - -
- - - - - -
- - - - -

Where the first row of dots and the second row are on the same line.

This is when the printer prints the first pass of squares all at the same time.

My test prints are fine and my bias and vertical and horizontal adjustments are fine.

Firmware is the latest at 3.20 and the printer was only serviced two weeks ago.

Posting on here as I won't be able to get to my tech till Monday and hoping someone has experienced this problem before.

Printer is a XJ640 but with the way the calibration test print is printing its unusable to set the calibration.

Took a macro pic of what I was trying to describe.

Ragnabrok: You were correct. I soaked the head with a cleaning swab and did a medium clean and it recovered the nozzles. I thought if I had deflected nozzles it would show up in a test print. Obviously I was wrong.

Thanks again for your help.

Not sure what he did for that macro shot, but one thing that works for me is even a point 'n' shoot camera, more or less rest the lens on a loup and it takes em pretty well.
