Discussion What was your biggest?

DL Signs

Never go against the family
Company has been open since 1972, and while we do our share of flex faces, at 24'x42' these are our biggest ones to date. Had to park some of the trucks outside for enough floor space to work on em'. Billboards are one thing, but flex faces this size just make me so happy I'm not one of our installers.
Anyone ever do any this size or bigger?

offhand, this was our recent biggest @ 18'x48' but we had to do it FOUR TIMES in a month!
double-sided pylon, and Radisson shipped us the vinyl to install on our flexface.
....except they rotated the tiles for some reason on the metallic vinyl, so it showed up as pinstriping in the sunlight.

took it down, and we cut new ourselves and re-applied/installed but can't seem to find the finished photo

however, that hotel has since come under new ownership and it was changed by someone else a year or so later....and whichever company did it, used a cheaper flexface that got blown out by a storm a month or two later.
can see if from the air if you're flying to-from milwaukee.

Pretty sure 24' x 32' might be a record! we recently did 20' x 30' flex faces, biggest ones in quite a while for us...

Out of curiosity, how did you do the initial lift and get started with one that wide? Any words of wisdom?
We have two boom trucks, one has a 10' basket, the other a 4'. Normally on the big ones we use both trucks, works great up to 20 feet or so in width, but this is double what we're used to, and our installers like to start in the center top. (I'm sure glad I'm not an installer, lol)

Take it to the ground! Of course, additional crane costs and mounting methods can kilbasch this quickly. But, in my experience, it is the easiest way to take care of the stretching.

Not an option, it goes on a multiple modular light cabinet array with integrated framework mounted to a wall. Yeah, ain'tthat special. We put them up a couple months ago, and were careful to make sure they were all squared off good to make the face go on easier.

Really? I mean, at the least I'd have tried to move someone to the retrofit frames so someone could pull a face in 'no time', drop it on a trailer, and get it re stretched at the shop... But at 24' I guess at best you'll be doing it on site on the ground or breaking the frame in half before hauling... At least you went with the plastic clips, much easier on the fingers!
