Well I got back the mainboard for my Mimaki JV3 130SPII and the slider.(Nothing wrong with the slider) wish I hadn't moved it. The cable marked SCN1 that goes to MCN7(about 2" wide) on the other end is bad....well the little silver things are coming up or pulling back when i try to install it. This cable looks like a bear to replace to . it's from the slider to the mainboard and in the plastic piece that slides..man wish I could repair it???? How do I change it or fix it??? Thank you

there's usually twice as much contact surface as needed to properly seat data. with a very sharp quality pair of scissors, you can trim off the entire bottom of the cable (maybe 1mm) taking with it the flaked up tab of aluminum. ...if that is what you are currently dealing with. i've done it before with data cables.

since this is a bit of a sensitive issue, i'd post pics and have everyone take a look at it. i can't imagine you having more trouble without ending up in the funny farm.

Looks like there may just be a lot of crud on them too. Ink or other debris can short two nearby pins. I'd clean the ends very carefully with alcohol, making sure that it dries, and that you got all of the residue of whatever's on there. Try your connection again, and you may not even need to replace them.

If you do, I got a very reasonable price, and always excellent service, from Jordan at Solvent Inkjet/Signage Specialist just recently. I'll be doing the ribbon replacement by this Friday as well!
