Can you replace a CA4 head with a new CE4M head by splitting the CE4 head apart? I've never tried this, but a vendor says it's possible. I don't want to blow $600+ on a head and destroy it.
I have a 250GT and had a similar problem. Had to replace the encoder. Quick way to tell if the encoder is defective is remove the guard and look toward the back of the carriage on the left and right side just beyond the print heads is where the encoders are located. They should have an LED that...
HP Designjet 5000 - 60" printer
HP Latex 26500 - 61" printer
Both printers are fully functional. The Designjet may need a head or two, but other than that everything works perfect.
Will need to pickup @ our shop. Looking for best offer - can sell as bundle or individually.

The easiest way I have found is to make a page size a couple inches less than the media you are printing on. ie. if printing on 54" media, make a page size 52", then select this page size when you run your cutting job. You have a choice or RIGHT, CENTER, LEFT when printing. Choose CENTER.
I actually had to remove the maintenance station and drill enlarged holes in it's base so I could move it around to where the heads seal over the caps. It took a few tries to get it correct, but now all the heads are sealed and don't even lose vaccuum over a period of 6-7 days.
