Yes, color consistency is another issue of HP printers as far as I've heard from different people. I've been talking to Canon guys about the new Colorado 1650 model with UVgel technology. They claim it to be the best solution for wallpaper mural application, but it is pricey, around $55K ball...

What concerns me is 220V power needed for HP's. Also I've heard that due to high drying temperature when printing wallpaper murals it shrink the media a lot.
