  1. Hp 560 or Epson s60600

We looked at Latex, but it scared me because stories of inconsistent color kept popping up. We can't have company logos varying from run to run. I also thought it looked like the Epson had a better media path. We run .030 polystyrene through our Epson and it is semi-rigid. Didn't look like the...
  2. Pressure Sensitive Roll Paper...

That looks great, but I can't find a price or anyplace that sells it. I will do some digging. We currently are paying $180 for a 54" x 150' rolls of vinyl, so I was hoping paper would be cheaper, but wasn't sure.
  3. Pressure Sensitive Roll Paper...

I appreciate it, but that costs more than the adhesive vinyl I am using.
  4. Operating System Not Configured to Run This Application....

Nevermind. Turns out that program uses some part of Office. Did a repair of Office and it now works.
  5. Operating System Not Configured to Run This Application....

Came into work this morning and had a windows popped up on the screen saying that the Operating System Is Not Configured to Run This Application. Couldn't get the window to go away, but figured out it was caused by Epson's LFP Accounting program. I had to force quit it. We have been using this...
  6. Pressure Sensitive Roll Paper...

We run roll labels and currently use adhesive vinyl. Does anyone know of a supplier for pressure sensitive roll paper that works with eco-solvent printers that might be cheaper?
  7. Cut Vinyl vs Printed Vinyl...

Ok. Just thought I was missing something. We usually gang up our signs and use our laminator to mount them on 5x10 foot sheets of coroplast and then trim them out. They look great and it goes fast.
  8. Cut Vinyl vs Printed Vinyl...

We regularly print adhesive vinyl on our Epson and mount it on various substrates, but the other day I decided to try cutting out vinyl and applying that for some yard signs, primarily just to see how it worked. Everything worked fine, but I was left thinking it made more sense to just print a...
  9. Cutting a roll of vinyl

We had a good customer need a rush order of 8x12 roll labels. We usually send out, but I ran them on our Epson, cut on the Summa and then used my 12” miter saw with a 100 tooth blade to cut down to 1-up width rolls. It made beautiful cuts, but smokes a little. I was surprised at the cut quality.
  10. Summa S2 T140 stops mid-plot

We have the same issue. Did you talk to Onyx? I haven't called them yet, but I guess that is the next step. I notice that Cut Server crashes frequently right after sending the file to the cutter.
  11. Coroplast Sign Pricing...

Most places that do wholesale say they won't deal directly with the client. They tout that they are trade only, but I have suspected that they are dealing directly with the campaigns and giving them the same price we would get.
  12. Coroplast Sign Pricing...

I realize signs365 isn't cheap for larger quantities. Gill Line does high volume screen printing and we priced 20x26 inch 2-color 2-sided signs for about $3 each and the politicians never bite on that price.
  13. Coroplast Sign Pricing...

We do NOT have a flatbed printer, so the only way we can do coro signs is to print on pressure sensitive vinyl and mount it on the coro. Doing this we cannot justify doing this in house, so we send out to trade shops like Signs365 for small orders or Gill Line for larger ones and mark it up...
  14. What printer should I buy? Latex or UV?

We have clients that always lay the new jobs next to the new ones to check color, so I had written off the latex as others had said it wasn't consistent, but we may look at it when we need to replace our current machine.
  15. What printer should I buy? Latex or UV?

So Latex colors are now consistent just like the Epson S series?
  16. Lamination Cost and Pricing....

Currently yes. We keep Banner material in 38 and 64 inch widths. Vinyls we keep in 54" widths as that is the width of our laminator and cutter. Since we run have jobs to run every 3 or 4 days and they have less than 24 hour deadlines, we don't usually have the change to run multiple jobs together.
  17. Lamination Cost and Pricing....

We use Printer's Plan to do estimating, tracking and scheduling. We aren't sure what market price is. I generally figure our costs, then mark up the materials and labor 50 percent. I then check what other online shops are charging and try not to be much higher than they are. Oddly enough, some...
  18. Lamination Cost and Pricing....

We price by square foot on the printer and linear feet on the laminator. When we have extra material needed, we just type that into our estimating software.
  19. Lamination Cost and Pricing....

The customer just sees a total for the lamination, none of the detail. I pulled all of these numbers out of our estimating software so everyone could see how I was arriving at the cost. We run a lot of retractable banners that are setup and never retracted and are then the banner is replaced...
  20. Lamination Cost and Pricing....

I wanted to share our cost and pricing for lamination and see if everyone else thought it looked reasonable. We are a commercial printer that does large format work for a couple clients and recently bought a laminator, so we are having to setup pricing. We bought a new 55" roll to roll...
