  1. Who does there own print head swap. Or do most use Techs.

25 years in business (one-man shop) and I've never had a service call on any of the four HP printers I've owned. (Designjet 2500, Designjet 3500, Designjet Z6100, Latex 365.) Mainly, I'm cheap. But also the machines have been workhorses, and easy to work on when they need service, especially...
  2. Looking for tips on making good butt seams in floor graphics

Do wrap installers actually cut through vinyl using a knife without marring the vehicle's finish? I don't think I could do that.
  3. Looking for tips on making good butt seams in floor graphics

I hadn't thought of knifeless tape. Good idea! I'm not sure it will work with the 3645 laminate though. The stuff is 8-mil and tough as leather. I'll give it a try though.
  4. Looking for tips on making good butt seams in floor graphics

I’m looking for tips and suggestions for making good butt seams in a multi-panel floor graphic. I can’t cut directly through the material because the knife scratches the black marble tile floor. I’ve done many single-piece floor graphics, and many wall murals with overlapping seams, but this is...
  5. 40' Long x 4' Tall Wall Vinyl

As others said, one of the biggest challenges will be keeping it from migrating up or down. The graphic has a horizontal pattern, so a laser level should be helpful.
  6. Need Help HP 365 Service Manual

The only service manual I've seen is the "Latex 300 Printer Series Service Manual, Edition 1", dated April 2014. Seems like there should be a newer one, but I haven't seen it.
  7. HP 115 - printing issue head hitting the center?

Oops! Sorry Stacey! Obviously I'm not familiar with the 115.
  8. HP 115 - printing issue head hitting the center?

According to Timothy Mitchell, the counter weights were designed for more accurate multi-panel printing, and fabric actually needs more tension so you should remove the weights for fabric (www.youtube.com/watch?v=KfP-LVDAUCc). Anyway, I agree that I'm not using them for their original intended...
  9. HP 115 - printing issue head hitting the center?

I had a lot of trouble getting perf through my 365 until I figured out that there was too much tension on the take up reel. Because the skew of the media wasn't perfect (and it never is), it was sending a ripple back up through the curing unit, where it would scrape. The solution was to install...
  10. Flexi color on gradient when mirrored

Yes. I would save the file as an uncompressed TIFF. (Flexi can accept TIFF files, right?) Then just run it through Flexi the same as you were doing with the PDF. The file size will most likely be larger than the PDF, but it's a much simpler file. No fonts, no transparency, no layers, and...
  11. Flexi color on gradient when mirrored

You can always try the oldest workaround in the book: open the PDF in Photoshop and convert it to a high-res bitmap. It's harder for a RIP to get confused by basic bitmap data.
  12. GBC Pro-Tech F60+ laminator

If I was on the other coast (and didn't already have one) I would snap this up. GBC Pro-Tech F60+ 62" capacity; Dual heat; Three supply shafts; Two take-up shafts; Main rollers plus tension-adjustable pull rollers; ...and built like a tank! I believe this machine sold for around $20,000 in...
  13. GBC Pro-Tech F60+ laminator

I still use my F60+ almost every day. They don't make 'em like that any more!
  14. Looking for source for little plastic pins (photo)

I'm having trouble finding a source for these little plastic pins. They're used to help secure a printed banner to the top rail of a Mark Bric retractable display, but Mark Bric doesn't sell them separately.
  15. Question IS GRIMCO LIKE THIS WITH EVERYTHING?

I'm almost 200 miles from Harbor, and they always deliver next business day, no extra charge, in their own truck. I've been ordering from them since 1998 with very few problems. I wasn't aware they had any other locations or warehouses, just the headquarters in Sudlersville, Maryland. Their...
  16. Question IS GRIMCO LIKE THIS WITH EVERYTHING?

I received a delivery from Harbor yesterday, and their website seems to be working OK. harborsales.net 800-345-1712 410-758-5461
  17. Sheet nesting

Edit: Skip this post and see Old Member's post below. I did not know about CutListOptimizer.com ______________________________________ Harbor Sales has an excellent tool on their website that will do what you're looking for (I think). You don't need to actually purchase anything, but you will...
  18. Laminator gone crazy need help

Yes. Since you're having problems with other buttons besides the speed control, the problem is probably not with the potentiometer but with the board, or possibly with the cable that connects the board to the works.
  19. Laminator gone crazy need help

Since you've had other problems with the controls, perhaps the problem could be with the ribbon cable that connects to that board.
