As others said, one of the biggest challenges will be keeping it from migrating up or down. The graphic has a horizontal pattern, so a laser level should be helpful.

You can always try the oldest workaround in the book: open the PDF in Photoshop and convert it to a high-res bitmap. It's harder for a RIP to get confused by basic bitmap data.

Yes. Since you're having problems with other buttons besides the speed control, the problem is probably not with the potentiometer but with the board, or possibly with the cable that connects the board to the works.

Since you've had other problems with the controls, perhaps the problem could be with the ribbon cable that connects to that board.
