We have one employee. They are fast efficient and do a great job.
They seem to be unhappy though. Any advice on how to approach an employee that seems unhappy and frustrated?
Is it like Phototex. Is it a fabric? Does ot have a stronger bond then Phototex. We’ve had a lot of adhesion issues with that stuff where normal 3m 40c works well

We pay our employee $20 an hour for production and $35 for installation. They’ve been with us for over a year. If they wanted full time they could easily make 50k. I and my partner pay ourselves $30k each. I’d gladly pay our employee more if I can take time off.
I’ve been having bad luck with Phototex but we do a lot of 17’ walls. It tends to get these bubbles/ creases that come back. Also doesn’t stick as easily. We’ve had clients prep the walls with high gloss paint that reacted well with the adhesive. In our case it ended up being Ben Moore “Ben”...
Ij180 is exactly what my 3m rep recommended to me. You don’t have to insult me. I understand the differences in cast and calendar we film. I’ve never worked with 180 before and my rep said it was the better bet on theses windows facing east where 40c has failed me.
Thanks. I’m applying ij180 clear to etched windows. It has a subtle texture. Almost a paper feel to it. Maybe more like a high grit sand paper 400 or above. I’ve used 40c and have mixed results. Did a 9 month wrap and it worked out fine some pealing edges and another time I did cut vinyl 40c...
We’re not downsizing but we are a small 3 person shop. It’s more of the problem keeping up. Also, some things we just don’t do as well. We’ll get a big job and we can do 80/90% in house efficiently but somethings we find best outsourcing.
Sometimes we need UV printed materials. Sometimes we...
What’s the differences between IJ180 and 40c. I’m wondering if 180 is more sticky then 40c? 40c seem to be more tacky at first then 180. Does 180 stick better over time?
I was just installing on a window. It was 50 degrees out and it didn’t seem to stick the best.
We do a lot of temporary exhibitions for museums. That’s why we’ve been using 40c. It’s seems to hold well for longer applications too. We always add a strip of banner tape at the top too.
I know 3m makes their 8900 series laminate but it’s pricey. Is there another brand out there that produces textured laminates in a fabric, canvas, or linen texture?
