  1. Question pricing and color vinyl

I know it varies from place to place and what type of vinyl but what would y'all charge to wrap this? I see they sell kits on ebay for 300.00 but of course I would be doing this myself so installation would need to be included as well as removal of existing vinyl. Also, the pic on the bottom...
  2. Question bad encoder strip cause banding? head replacement cause heater issues?

OK, persistence counts. I went through everything and cleaned everything the best I could, made sure that spring was still connected (which I am still worried about it since it seems loose) but I am back up and running! No overspray - hope it lasts!
  3. Question bad encoder strip cause banding? head replacement cause heater issues?

Thanks Jim - I had that already and already had installed it and everything. When I went back in I saw the spring had come off and it seems pretty loose to me so I reattached it (hoping it doesn't come off again) and tried to do a limitization or whatever you call it again and it kept giving me...
  4. Question bad encoder strip cause banding? head replacement cause heater issues?

just went back under the hood - lol - noticed the spring that holds the encoder strip on if off. When I go to put it back on it seems loose and won't let me do the encoder set up again. Runs to the end and says turn motor off. I have a feeling this is my culprit but how do I tighten that up?
  5. Question bad encoder strip cause banding? head replacement cause heater issues?

OK, the heater issue is solved but the overspray is still there and I am still wondering if it's a profile gone corrupt or something else. I just changed the encoder strip and it's still doing the overspray with some banding. Finally took some pics - any suggestions would be appreciated. As for...
  6. Question bad encoder strip cause banding? head replacement cause heater issues?

Of course after replacing a head, replacing a fuse, I get all the colors back up and running, do the best I can to align everything - test prints look good. Go to print and there is fuzzy overspray. Knowing I had a little bit of a problem with reading the registration marks I have ordered a new...

Huge thank you to Jim! You got me up and running again and it was very nice meeting you in person. Can't thank you enough! Pet the dog for me! Chris
  8. Need Help test print alignment

of course they were out of the cheapies - thats just my luck but i'm sure we will have alot of use for this anyways since this house we moved into has some weird electrical problems in certain areas. So, that being said, do I dare do this? I have never used a multimeter, don't know how to read...
  9. Need Help test print alignment

    Thank you so much!
  10. Need Help test print alignment

I just texted my son at work to see if he has one here, if not I will have to take a ride to get one from my father. (a multimeter as I read above)
  11. Need Help test print alignment

I ordered two of these and two head cables - hopefully they are the correct ones. Out for delivery at the moment, haven't received them yet.
  12. Need Help test print alignment

the picture on the right is what I did - moved in pairs, does that mean I still need to check the output transistor?
  13. Need Help test print alignment

correction, I criss crossed the cables
  14. Need Help test print alignment

yes, I swapped all the cables and the yellow/magenta came back but yes the black/cyan dropped out
  15. Need Help test print alignment

Since I am waiting on a delivery today of the fuse (I also ordered the cables that go to the head) I decided to try to swap the head cables to see if it would print the dropped out magenta/yellow and it did. Would that test make it safe to say the fuse has not blown and it just needs new head...
  16. Need Help test print alignment

lol - yeah, I read something about some kind of tester, was just wondering if you could tell by looking at it. Also looking for other reasons why the color dropped out to check if its not the fuse. either way i have a fuse coming.
  17. Need Help test print alignment

with the yellow/magenta dropping out after me stupidly trying to realign the heads in service mode without shutting it off, and reading that it has probably blown a F3 fuse, is there a way to tell if it is blown by looking at it? If this is it then it doesn't look bad to me but I never seen a...
  18. Need Help test print alignment

yeah, that was my problem, I had it on in service mode and started screwing with it without unplugging it - that's why I'm pretty sure I blew the fuse. I ordered one but hearing something about soldering it is starting to worry me. guess I'll figure it out when it comes in tomorrow. I did use...
  19. Need Help test print alignment

Thank you, I actually found that originally and thats how I alligned (well tried to) everything after I installed the new print head. My hex (which I swear isn't a hex but just a screw - a hex doesn't work but that middle screw works in it - will not back off, it will only go straight) so I took...
  20. Need Help test print alignment

so that last line - the left hand head is fixed, and that's the one I changed, so I should do this to the head on the right then, the one I didn't change? And if I adjust that left screw that is suppose to be a hex then the top and bottom of the print test should align straight? Other then...
