  1. Mutoh ValueJet - Anyone have any thoughts?

Almost any technician will tell you to never run magnetic material through a printer. There are computer chips and hundreds of metal components that it can or will damage. You can buy magnetic material separately and adhere the print to it but I never suggest running it through a printer...
  2. Valuejet

Those look great. They're at 720 dpi, right?
  3. Mutoh ValueJet - Anyone have any thoughts?

The ValueJet is far more reliable than the Falcon series. When it first came out there were hundreds on the field and there were only two service calls. I happen to know that at least one of them was a very simple user error. The VJ seems to give you what you want fast, cheap, good, and easy...
  4. fabric banner material?

    Is this solvent or aqueous?
  5. Mimaki JV2- 130- any opinions?

If you're considering buying it from the owner be sure to ask why they are "getting rid of it". If you are buying it from a dealer, ask why the original owner got rid of it and don't be afraid to ask for their contact information. The previous owner is the best source of information available to...
  6. Mimaki JV2- 130- any opinions?

Great printer but I don't like Mild solvent. It's weaker than real solvent but it should still be ventilated (they'll swear otherwise). I don't really see any benefit in it. I always suggest either solvent or eco-solvent. Also, the inks are more expensive per liter than most other...
  7. need some help here

I would advise against any 30" printer. VersaCamm is a good machine but 30" significantly cuts down your versatility and gets you into somewhat inefficient media costs. I would suggest subbing out until you can get something along the lines of 48". I know a lady with a 30" VersaCamm and she...
  8. Epson Stylus Pro 9500

Your cost per square foot on inks will be pretty high as compared to an HP 5500 or especially compared to a Kodak 1200i. Unless you're printing photo reproductions I would encourage you to look into other printers. Also, be sure you compare the statistics of that printer to other options like...
  9. Mutoh Ultima cutter....anyone else use one ?

I was toying with my demo unit and I have to say Chris is right. It is a lot easier to use it through Flexi though you are still able to change the force and speed with the control panel. I noticed that many people press "Exit" instead of "Enter" after they adjust the settings but sometimes they...

    What model?
  11. Mutoh Ultima cutter....anyone else use one ?

I'm going to take a look at it and see what your problem might be. I'm thinking it might be something pretty simple.
  12. Encad 1000i / Kodak 1200i : Feedback wanted

Yes. The 1200i does put out better image quality than the 5500 and it does so at a higher speed. Kodak actually sold all of the 60" Kodak 1200is to its largest dealer so all other dealers are getting these printers from that dealer.
  13. Mutoh Ultima cutter....anyone else use one ?

    1. I get to sample different pieces of equipment from time to time when we test them to decide whether we will offer them. The Ultima is an amazing cutter but it is somewhat tricky in the beginning. 2. I was trained by my company's technicians. Your dealer may offer training for free if you...
  14. Encad 1000i / Kodak 1200i : Feedback wanted

Amazing printer. It comes in 60" wide and puts out at 200 square feet per hour. The outdoor inks on it last for a few months (3-5 w/ out lamination, up to a year with lamination). I know of a few companies that love the printer so much that they have four of them running full time in their sign...
  15. value jet VS roland?

The old Mutohs were complete pains. Roland is a pretty well balanced machine but my preference goes toward the ValueJet right now. You will get absolute crap support unless you buy from a certified Mutoh support provider. Ask the dealer if their technicians are all trained and certified by...
  16. MUTOH ValueJet

Different places will have different prices. $20,995 is the standard rate.
  17. Help with Choosing a Cutter

I agree with BigBly. I particularly like the D Series Summa.
  18. MUTOH ValueJet

If you get the ValueJet with the Ultima Cutter it will cost you $20,995.
  19. Mutoh Ultima cutter....anyone else use one ?

I've used the cutter a bit along side the ValueJet. Are you having issues with it? -Zach
  20. MUTOH ValueJet

The ValueJet is an outstanding printer. I work in customer service so I know of several dozen companies who own them and none of them have had any issues. The most common emotion related with the ValueJet has been, in my experienced, unrestrained glee.
