I bought my other laptop a while back and picked up one of the last ones they had with xp. My new laptop has vista and i figured i would give it a shot...so far i like it..my only complaint is the constant messages
Im just starting out but all the local places are too far away for me to make the run to get the stuff. I get my stuff usually within two days so thats fast enough for me
I found this thread very helpful. My Cheapo now runs great...just in time for my new cutter to arrive. I just picked up a Q60 ...for those that have a master cutter..its great as a backup or starter but man what a difference with a better machine.
That is all
I have the same cutter...i start with the downforce around 95 and it works well. The blade should be just barely out the end of the holder...do a test cut and see how far its cutting thru...just thru the vinyl and barely marking the backer is what you want.
I just upgraded to a vinyl express...
my computer found the drivers and installed both my master cutter and my vinyl express...the master worked fine but i had to fiddle witht he setting son the vinyl master and i have it running. I cut two small jobs last night on it. I had to move the port setting from com1 to usb0001 and another...
I only have vista because its on my new laptop. I have to say so far its running pretty good. I have 2 gigs of ram and i think thats a big part of it. I usually shy away from the new stuff too. I would never have upgraded too it. As a matter of fact i have another laptop that i bought just...
I have been running an old version of flexi basic on vista for two weeks now with no problems. I just purchased LXI8 and got it to work tonight too....tech told me it wouldn't. LOL
I have been running my flexi basic on vista for a few weeks now. I bought a new cutter and it came with lxi8 . I go to run it and it won't open the PM.
I call tech and they say oh...it won't work with vista....i tell them ive been running flexi for weeks and they tell me it must just be me...
hmmmm. so far flexi still works fine and cuts . LXI works and loads but never makes it to the pm. If i just run lxi i can still use both cutters right? I would really like to use my old cutter just for stupid stuff.
Thanks
I just bought a new cutter and went with lxi8...seems pretty cool as i have been using a flexi basic version. I went to install everything and it went well right up to the point when i go to cut...production manager doesn't even open and i get a error message and lxi restarts...im wondering if i...
it was happening with everything...letters,numbers, graphics...especially on circles. I can tell the difference right away...i cut a few small jobs tonight that usually give me a hard time and they all came out great.
I can't wait to get a new machine....driving me nuts trying to figure out what to get....LOL
Anyway it sounds like my knife offset may be the problem..can't wait to try it out
Thanks....i have tried new blades...im' on my 3rd computer now so i know its not that, and its done it since new....i read somewhere online another person had the same problem and it turned out to be software related.
