Periodically, I encounter corrugated plastic prints from our Scitex FB700 where the ink rubs off very easily or is scratched easily. However, most of the time, it's not a problem. Yesterday, I took a sign that was printed 24 hours earlier and tried to scratch the ink off in various ways with...
In the last two weeks, I've had this problem occur three times (first on White, then Cyan, and today on Yellow).
When I switch the ink, the FB700 is unable to fill the print heads after the new box is installed.
So far, I've managed to make it work after screwing with it for an hour or so...
An update: I did figure out how to adjust the profiles to add more passes and higher resolutions, but I haven't tested it thoroughly.
I don't actually use the Mimaki JV3 very much anymore. It's primary job at this point is printing screen printing films (which might only be once or twice a...
I have a Mimaki JV3 that came with RasterLink Pro 2 in 2006. In 2014, we purchased a new computer and a copy of OnyxRIP to power a Scitex flatbed. At the time, we planned to move the Mimaki over to Onyx as well (to use only the new computer and eliminate a Windows XP machine), but we've never...
I have a Mimaki JV3 that is 10 years old this summer. We bought it alongside a Colorspan 72 UVX.
The Mimaki was reliable for the time, but we replaced the Colorspan a couple of years ago with an HP Scitex FB700. When that happened, 95% of everything we printed on the Mimaki was moved to the...
We have attempted to set up the laminate as shown in this video from Seal: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CtoBUN3KrVI
Generally that doesn't work out very well for me. Instead, we have a slightly different method that has worked better, but still isn't perfect.
I peel the backing off the...
Is there a trick to single sided lamination? I have major problems making it work properly; my predecessors did as well. These problems have gone on for over 10 years.
When I laminate paper and add double stick, there's no problem. It all just works (using a Seal laminator). When I try to...
I have an ongoing problem with my HP Scitex FB700. I have an error that repeatedly shows up despite my trying several solutions. The only temporary fix we have found is to shut down the printer, let it sit for several minutes, and turn it back on. This is leading a lot of lost time.

Thank you for clarifying.
How do you change the position? The blade holder doesn't seem to move. Is this a setting on the computer, or physical piece I need to adjust?
EDIT: Nevermind, I figured it out. Thanks again.
We just purchased a Graphtec FC8600-130. I've figured out the basics of operating the machine, but now I'm trying to learn something a little bit more advanced. I'm trying to use the perforated cutting ability to cut through the backing of the vinyl (an advertised feature of the machine)...
Does anyone have a solution for cutting to a Graphtec plotter from Illustrator? Specifically, an FC4100-100. It's a fairly old model - probably over 15 years old, and that seems to be my biggest problem. We've talked about replacing the plotter, but it still works perfectly for everything we do...
We replaced our Colorspan 72UVX last year, and ever since then it has just sat in my printing department sucking energy and taking up space. We'd like to get it out of here, but haven't had any luck trying to sell it (it is not operational and the ink is discontinued). Is there a preferred way...
Thanks for the response Rao. I was familiar with ShopVox, but I was under the impression that it did less than SignVox - thanks for clearing that up. I'll take a closer look at it.
My biggest concern with ShopVox is the cost. Just looking at the pricing and features list, it looks like we...
I've been looking at and considering SignVox for a long time, and I'm still researching possible new software for the business (pulling the trigger on SignVox is a hard sell because there is no trial).
One of my latest realizations is that some of our most desired features are very...
That's an interesting solution; I guess it's worth a shot. What printer RIP are you using? (I'm using the latest version of Onyx)
I guess it's also worth noting that we always run the printer in CMYKW (instead of 6 color) - the white ink was one of the primary selling points for us.
I have an on-going issue with one red color on my HP Scitex FB700. The color in question is a Pantone color: 187C.
The issue primarily stems from the fact that we just upgraded to the Scitex this year. For the last 8 years, we were printing most projects on a Colorspan 72UVX and a Mimaki JV3...
It's not running the eco-solvent inks right now. We've had the Mimaki since 2006; I'm not even sure eco-solvent was an option then. We've run it the same way for 8 years. We have the vent built into the printer (big metal tube) but no additional ventilation.
I will look into what it takes to...
Recently, one of my artists has been expressing concerns about exposure to the ink we use in both of our printers after researching about them online. I have MSDS sheets for all of the inks, and they label all of them as "danger" and make them sound pretty scary.
Having read the MSDS sheets...
We purchased an HP Scitex FB700 earlier this year with the white ink upgrade. The white ink is something we were (and still are) very excited about, and we've used it most of the time without any issues. I'm able to print gorgeous displays on clear acrylic and add solid white graphics to colored...
Yes, it cuts the same each time.
As for replacing the part, it's certainly a possibility. In the time I have worked with the machine, I have never replaced anything other than the blade. Honestly, I'm not 100% sure I know what part you are referring to.
