  3. Oracal 651 vinyl

I think it depends on where you are located and your customer. We use all cast materials for anything outdoors. We've tested several different calendared vinyls through the years and they don't seem to hold up to the extreme temperature swings in MN. I've seen some shrink as much as a 1/4"...

I have a long time customer that has requested an electronic drive-thru menu that they can control what is displayed at any given time. Think Mcdonald's but not that large. Has anyone worked with a vendor that they would recommend? I know it will be spendy, the customer is aware of this too...
  8. Font Help WTF?! 1950's Battery Charger

I feel like I should know what this one is or something very similar but I'm coming up blank. Figured it's time to call upon the pros. I am recreating an image for a decal on a 1950's Marquette Porto-Fast Battery Charger. The image is what is left of the existing print. Any and all help is...
  9. Need Help Streaks on Prints

I am not familiar with Mutoh but I get the same thing when the humidity is too low with our Roland. Static electricity is causing ink particles to stick to the rollers and then be transferred to the material as it advances through the printer.
  10. 3m 2080 Flip Cast film Printing????????

I've successfully printed on 1080, laminated, and contour cut. It accepted ink like any print vinyl. Was on a vehicle for two years before it was stripped to be sold and looked just as good as day one without any adverse effect to the adhesive. I run a Roland VS-640. As far as the film on...

  18. How to properly dispose of neon signs?

Due to the mercury, we recycle it just like fluorescent bulbs. We do service signs so we have a recycler that comes to our shop to pick up.
  19. ROLAND VS-540I Not cutting all the way through and a weird test cut.

I have not cut material quite that thick but have run into a similar issue when the blade holder itself gums up. It would drag the blade through the material rather than it turning the correct way to cut it. Sewing machine oil in the holder worked for a while but ultimately, I replaced the...
  20. Milk Truck Lettering

I've never had an issue with it peeling and have done several for a local company over the years. In fact, removal is tough as it seems to bond really well to the smooth surface. We use scotchcal 220 as well. We have a very thorough cleaning process before installation.
