We've doen really cool stuff for the cheyenne mtn zoo here in colorado springs. Gaint animals wrapping buildings n such, but that sir, is sick!!!
  3. Onyx 7.3.2 & HP L25500

im pretty sure you have to get the "add-on" in onyx to enable the printer. wasatch is the same way (which is the rip im using for my l25500)
  4. I saw this on FailBlog.org and didn't even laugh

I have to wonder, did their business increase since they put that up? lol
  5. EFI Rastek H650

Our H700 was a demo model. It had zip ties clamping the ink lines together and all kinds of good stuff to boot. Even after replacing all the clamps I still bleed the lines each day before use. A little air is leeching into the lines and will cause partial head drop outs about 6"-12" into a...
  6. EFI Rastek H650

i have an H700. How often are you bleeding the lines from the printhead (to remove air)

  8. Segway company owner dies in apparent Segway accident

Right, this guy did purchase the company a year ago and is not the original inventor. Ironic, for sure. But I tried not to laugh too hard, he gave to many charities and such.
  9. Looking For Gerber Odyssey

not a good one. ours started cascading letters across the vinyl. it might be fixable, but we have 3 other plotters, so its a dust collector
  10. Mimaki jv3 130 spII runs out of ink but no low warning!!!

hmmm...sounds like gremlins! lol Maybe it had something to do with your high use of yellow ink on that run. Best thing to do is keep an eye on the yellow inks especially when getting to the 'near end' mark and see if the condition persists. That, and hope someone has a more definitive answer...
  11. cutting roll paper

we cut down rolls of vinyl with a radial arm saw. not too sure about paper though. i'd worry about it catching on fire lol. I guess you could try cutting a couple inches off if you have such a saw available and aren't worried about the waste of paper
  12. Are we green yet?

Well said on the use of power rfulford! 'Green' is definately more style than substance in the marketplace. Although the company I work for does not advertise being 'green'. Several of our more environmentally active clients have been on tours here and have been impressed enough with what were...
  13. what do you lube with?

lmao. I did good huh? Not even one KY name drop! oops!!!
  14. what do you lube with?

on my jv3's i just use WD-40 once a week. The jv5 gets a pinch of lithium grease when i clean and lube the plastic gearing. Not on a regular schedule though. I don't get those y-current errors on anything but the 3's
  15. Mimaki jv3 130 spII runs out of ink but no low warning!!!

The worst mine will ever do when a cartridge is emptied mid print is warp material from heat and cause head strikes once resumed. Fortunately that is very dependent on my material and is a rare occurance. I typically do let the inks run out because i've never had air leeched into the lines or...
  16. Are we green yet?

You must be proud, amongst other things
  17. Are we green yet?

ecosol is a step in the right direction. Probably not 'green', but 'greener'
  18. Mimaki jv3 130 spII runs out of ink but no low warning!!!

Are you expecting (or experienced) the machine to pause printing when the ink hits the 'near end' so you can replace the cartridge? When printing, mine will beep to notify 'near end', but will keep printing until a new cartridge is required.
  19. Are we green yet?

We recycle as much as possible, we got an HP L25500 latex printer (slow, but nice) and i'm trying to convince the power that be to convert our useless JV5 to eco-solvent as another step in the eco-friendly and no-lam directions. All waste from the solvent / UV printers is picked up by a...
  20. Rastek T660

I run a Rastek H700. Not too sure how much they differ, but your intended substrates will be a big factor. Like corex for example, doesn't adhere well on mine. Chipping when cut or scratched. I will say the color coming off of the H700 is impressive
