  1. Text looks like crap, psd import to flexi

it honestly sounds like a corrupt font, I know I know, how does arial get corrupted, but I've seen it hundreds of times. Especially if you're designing on one computer and printing on another. Try rasterizing your layers in pshop, creating a png file ( which is lossless) and try that way.
  2. Seiko 64s calibration help

seiko and hp have a tool called a head positioning jig, it costs about $1000, what it does is hold the head straight and allows you to position front to back and slant. What you are doing in essence is correct, but remember a little move goes a LOOOONG way. go into your service menu and find...

ok first, having run triangle's bulk ink system, and the same firmware you are running I can tell you, you can safely run any clean you want. Those 3 missing nozzles will DEFINITELY make a huge impact on print quality and production speeds. The 160s has a new capping station available with...

if you take into consideration what your average service rate is, plus travel, and then think about the cost associated with assorted parts, try to put things into perspective. You pay for car insurance, and yet drive around daily never needing it. It's when you need it and don't have it, that...
  8. Is My Print Head Going Bad?

one of the most important things to remember is, printers need to print. The more you print, the better off your heads will be. Your cleaning solution is very similar to your ink, the primary difference is, the cleaner lacks the pigmentation the ink has ( there are other differences, but...
  9. print head out of alignment my prints are very fuzzy. it looks like i am getting the

judging from the amount of slant and over lap you have there, your heads need to be mechanically adjusted, before you can calibrate at all. Have you had any serious media jams or had heads replaced? from what I'm seeing, I'd call in your tech, for the 2 hours they work on your printer, your...
  10. entire cartridges siphoned empty over night

I've had this happen on several jv3-160s models. As near as we can tell it's due to a cap calibration issue. If the caps are too high, then it can cause a wicking effect if your pumps are at all weak. One sure way to get rid of that problem is to pull the carts out until the needle isn't inside it.
  11. what do you lube with?

y current errors, in addition to a sign that your guide rail needs oiling, can also be an early indicator that your y-pulley assembly is starting to go bad. I recommend, lightly rubbing your guide rail with a piece of steel wool, then wiping it down with a clean lint free rag. 3 in 1 oil is all...
  12. Is anyone using 3rd party ink for jv3

I used Triangle bulk inks for years, an outstanding color gamut, love the big tanks so I could see when I was low, and apart from a stronger smell, I had no complaints as to the quality of the ink. With after market ink consistency from batch to batch is one of the biggest killers, that was...

  15. Help in bringing hp 9000s back to life!

depending on how tech savvy you are, the job could be a daunting task. Personally I've brought back a 64s, several 9000s, and a 100s. There's nothing to say it CAN'T be done, it just will NOT be easy, and it most certainly will be a dirty job. Certain tubing WILL be bad, ( from the subtank pumps...

heads like all pieces of equipment wear with age. Calibrations are best left to the techs, but HP does allow for a little user level calibration.
