I bought tape in Merkur, it is silver and twice expensive then regulary tape. Or you can use piece or aluminium folio and stick it with regulary crape tape. On this forum one or two years ago one users advice me to disassemble heating unit and to move heating plates closer, but I did`t try it...

Yes, put piece of aluminium tape or folio where the plates are joined.I have the same problem especially on full red and brown print. When I got some time I`ll try to disassemble heating unit and to move heating plates closer.

I agree with Matt-Tastic. I buy USB to LPT adapter (cable) and try it. It works on Roland CX 24 cutter but not on Mutoh Rockhopper I printer. Better solution is PCI card with LPT port. I try it on PC with LPT on motherboard, so I have PC with two LPT and it works great.

Serial to USB I try to connect Mutoh Rockhopper I printer with LPT to USB adapter (cable) and have connectivity problem. Maybe it is the same with serial to USB. Try PCI card with serial port instead adapter (cable), but check if you have PCI slot on your motherboard.

I have 62" Mutoh Falcon Outdoor for two years, no problems except Y motor (the pulley on the Y motor had come loose), but think that ValueJet is better solution.

My friend use fillink but he got profiles from fillink dealer. Ask for profile from your dealer. I used Palladium eco ink (it is mild solvent ink) on my Rockhopper I and has problem with gray too, it has too magenta in it. I back to original ink and now gray is very good. Next week I`ll try...

I also think it`s a media issue. Bad, dirty or old media. On my old Encad (water based) sometimes prints also look kind blotchy, mostly because of static electricity.
