  1. Changing clock on the JV33 to use expired ink

Does anyone know how to successfully change the clock backwards on the JV33 to use expired ink? When I try to change it gives me an error and won't keep the change.
  2. JV3-160SP Weird Head Issue

Well, I did a test on pulling ink through the existing capping station, there were no apparently issues with it, however just to be sure I put a new capping station on. Pulled ink through the bottom on the new one...and still have the same problem?! I'm really at a loss now, I would have thought...
  3. JV3-160SP Weird Head Issue

I was just thinking this morning that I hadn't tried replacing the capping station, either way it probably needs done anyway. Pulling ink through didn't work so hopefully this will solve it. Thanks!
  4. JV3-160SP Weird Head Issue

Hmm, no I didn't draw any ink through - that is a brand new pump so I didn't really even think of it. I'll give it a try just to make sure. No manifold sharing, those are two unique head/manifold combo's. Dampers are also brand new.
  5. JV3-160SP Weird Head Issue

I've been working on bring a JV3 back from the dead and have run into an interesting problem with my cyan head. I've attached a photo - it's the test draw marked "head 1". After giving up on that head and putting in a new one, I have the same area missing - test draw marked "head 2". At this...
  6. Stripping Very Old Vinyl off

I'm curious if the wallpaper steamer worked for removing the adhesive? We are currently in the middle of removing 30 year old metallic gold stripes and adhesive off a car with metallic single stage paint, we used the 3m stripe remover which took off the top layer of vinyl but left the adhesive...
  7. Dan Gurney Edition Saleen Mustang Numbers Font? Here's a pic.

Did he try contacting Performance Auto Sport? They should have bumper numbers, it's going to be the rest of the decals that are going to be impossible to find. Last I heard no one had them.
  8. Any mid range die cutting machine?

I use my Mimaki CG-160FX plotter for doing short custom die cut runs. If your doing 100# or 12pt coated cover it can take a couple of passes but it works great. I have a blade holder with a paper-only blade for easy swapping back and forth from vinyl to paper. It's a great service to offer and...
  9. Door Hanger Punch?

Try your local finishing/bindery places. Most have a standard die for 2up door hangers so all you have to pay for is setup and punching. It usually runs around 75/per 1M in my area.
  10. Dry Erase Laminate

I've been using the "RemiErase" Dry Erase from Remington Laminations for years with really good results. I have a customer that does menu boards for the food service industry and his customers have been really happy with how it cleans off. He has also been really happy with the minimal amount of...
  11. Matt Satin Black

My vote is for the Avery Matte Black from the Supreme Wrap series. I actually painted my car in Satin Black and their's is a great match to my paint. Nice deep black, good satin finish and no chalky look. If I hadn't already gone to the trouble of paint I would use it in a heartbeat.
  12. Magnetic Dry Erase Sign

This is what I did as well. The cost was almost the same as if I had used 6mm PVC and the print laid down really nice.
  13. thanks gg - I'm finally sporting the new look:

Nicely done! I actually love a pickup in satin. Satin isn't "played out" yet, the number of cars painted/wrapped with Satin at SEMA this year was off the charts...some good, some not so good. Satin color and gloss accents were really the big deal. What will eventually kill the craze is when...
  14. Have you replaced your JV3 recently?

I bought a JV33 just a little over a year ago and have slowly stopped using the JV3 over that period of time. I keep trying to put things on it, but the quality and the speed are so much better on the JV33 that I end up taking it off and moving it to the 33 anyway. Now my 33 is so full that I'm...
  15. Making Stencils using Plotter?

Grimco was the first place I contacted....due to the small size of the letters (less then 1.5" tall) they suggested I use my plotter. I'll try the .010 styrene, that might be thin enough to work. I wish I would use a paper product, but these are for using next to storm drains and in our lovely...
  16. Making Stencils using Plotter?

Does anyone use their vinyl plotter to make stencils? I had a customer bring me a stencil that looks like it was done on a plotter and want's me to make 24 more for him (sign shop that did them before is gone), can that be done? I have a Mimaki CG130-FX that I use for my plotting. If it can be...
  17. Hemless in Seattle

With the demise of the sewing table at my local Fellers I have been struggling with my one other source for banner hemming and was hoping someone had knowledge of another Seattle source that does wholesale hemming. I am a wholesale shop and the turn times that I get are ridiculous at best and...
  18. pdf issues

I've been having the same problem with Wasatch as well. I usually use Acrobat to re-export as an eps, so far that has fixed every file.
  19. An introduction

Thanks GG, I think she's something special too! Nice, backspin21! I would love to have a fastback but for some reason the Fox's keep following me home. We also have a white 88 Saleen Vert.
  20. An introduction

Hello All, I have a small wholesale sign/digital output shop in South Seattle. I kind of stumbled onto doing large format from my former life in offset/quick printing when the company I was working for bought a JV2 and eventually a sign shop that was going out of business. Well, the quick...
