  1. Mimaki CJV30-160 laminating then cutting

You really should read the manual. The CJV's are a complex beast at first - until you've set it up properly and worked out your workflow from software through to contour cutting. To answer your question though, yes print 4 reg marks - make sure the software prints say type 2 and the machine is...
  2. After cutting, reset blade to left position

Not sure if you know this, but: When in cut mode it stays on the right, in print mode it parks the cutter head on the left. If you want to move it out of the way, press heater/cutter button, then head retract. Press the down arrow again and you can also turn off the heaters
  3. Question Photoshop to Signlab VPM

You could flatten it and save as a tiff or jpeg, then import into Signlab or VPM
  4. Need Help Mimaki CJV30 - Print head troubleshooting...(solved)

You know, your old head may still be okay. If your cap was that bad, it would have prevented it from getting a proper cleaning cycle. Just like with your new head - no ink getting pulled through. I would flush the old head with cleaning solution and store it...
  5. Need Help Mimaki CJV30 - Print head troubleshooting...(solved)

Glad to hear it Kent! It doesn't take much to get a bad seal. I always look when doing a cleaning to make sure I see ink pool in the cap, and ink deposit on the wiper to verify that is has actually pulled ink through successfully. Always cleaning and inspecting around the cap top and under the...
  6. Need Help [CJV-300][Video] PR Sensor problem

On my CJV30 there's a switch in the cutter head and a little 90 degree folded bit of aluminum on the carriage that fits into the cutter head to activate the switch. Yours may be bent or not inserting or activating properly.
  7. Error 07 P-head init

According to the manual: An error was detected in the head connection. (Abnormal temperature was detected.) I guess you could try checking the connections, make sure there's no ink on the FFC cable connectors going into the head.
  8. Need Help Mimaki CJV30 - Print head troubleshooting...(solved)

I'll bet that your head isn't seated properly. You think it went in right, but it didn't click into place as it should. Then you don't get a seal around the cap, no suction through the head, no ink in it to even get a visible test print. You need to pull it out and re-seat it ensuring it clicks...
  9. Need Help Mimaki CJV30 - Print head troubleshooting...(solved)

When you do your ink fill up or cleaning, are you getting ink through the head and into your cap station? If not then there's a problem with the cap/head seal. You could probably verify if the head is firing by injecting some ink into it then test print.
  10. How would you tackle this partial wrap?

I already told them we won't be printing it. I've had this particular Oracal vinyl out there on other vans for a few years now with no problems. It's my call to go with it. But now I have to work out how! I could fit the black to the red first, then cut the red/black edge to shape, then...
  11. How would you tackle this partial wrap?

Yeah I realised that a single printed graphic would be an easier install, but I already stressed to them that solid vinyl would hold up much better. Being that a lot of it is facing up and they are going to be in the hot Tropical sun all day (Northern Territory AUS)
  12. How would you tackle this partial wrap?

Hi all - I have the go ahead for 3 Toyota Hiace vans plus one Hilux ute/truck. Part of the design is to wrap the top section plus the roof as per the design attached. (I've blocked out the branding) The vehicles will be outside all the time, so I'll be using solid color vinyl instead of...
  13. Mimaki CJV30-160 error 250

From the service manual: "An error was detected during scanning operation" It could be that he splashed a bit of ink onto the encoder strip. Have a good look there. Check that it is seated properly and there's no ink or dirt/dust on it.
  14. CJV3-0130 - Washing Solution Needle Assembly replacement - Tech who has part No.s?

My washing cartridge has never worked from day one. 5 years later and I still haven't missed it. I just tip a bit of fluid into the cap myself every now and then.
  15. JV33 MBYK Error

I would think something made your original printhead/ main PCB short out. Probably a bad ribbon cable or connection. You can repair the original PCB - contact MacMedia. The original printhead may still be okay. The slider board may or may not be damaged. Trouble is, you won't know what...
  16. CJV30 poor prints

Your missing nozzles may come back after a while of using solvent ink. The poor quality is from bad dot placement. You need to do a head slant adjust, then dot position placement adjustment to get it right again. Look in your maintenance menu.
  17. Error 16 MRL Command JV33-130 nightmare!

From the Manual: ERROR 16  MRL COMMAND Received data does not follow the command system set in the printer. Send the data related to the class of commands, using an application corresponding to this printer. 1. Make sure that the transmission data is in MRL-III command...
  18. CJV30-160 Not printing Cyan

Yeah I thought the same thing when I saw those white tubes. Haven't seen those since my Roland FJ printer circa 1999. I now have a CJV myself and can tell you they are clear.
  19. JV33 still stopping mid print

Make sure you have your system's speakers on next time. I had a similar problem with my CJV30 randomly stopping and I found the reason after hearing my USB disconnect sound (dingdong) which preceded the printer stopping. Turns out my new computer motherboard is susceptible power fluctuations...
  20. CJV30-160 Is not contour cutting prints over 72"

I have a CJV30 and can say the page is skewed slightly. It doesn't matter if the print has stretched - it will still find the marks, but if the sheet isn't lined up right for it to find the first rear mark it will go right past without running over it to find it. Sometimes the print skews as...
