  1. LIMIT POSITION not easily separating tool carriage

I've had a lock get jammed, and took it apart to fix. It's just a ball bearing in a spring. took it apart, put it back together, and it worked after that.
  2. adding multiple files to versa works

you can drag and drop into the job queue, select the files in an explorer window, drag them into the queue, the icon should change and let go. I've done this for 5-8 files, not sure how things will react when you really get up in numbers.
  3. VS640 printing problem

he mentioned hexus on another thread.
  4. LIMIT POSITION not easily separating tool carriage

easy solution, you are doing it wrong :thumb: At the start of limit position initialize, it prompts you to move to cap position. You have to lock the head, or it will fail. There is a youtube video by all graphics that shows the limit position initialize way better than i can type it out. The...
  5. FJ-50 Moving Media Forward and Reverse Stopped Working

The feed motor is encoded, so if it trying to move forward or backwards and doesn't, it'd trigger some type of motor error. I'd guess that the motor is turning, but is not attached to the gear, or the gear has broken off the grit roller shaft. I think the feed motor is behind the covers on the...
  6. DIY Print Dryer For Ecosol Printer? Show Me Yours...

Heat is needed during a print for solvent ink, to make the media more receptive. once it's on there, you are waiting for the solvent to evaporate, blowing the vapor away speeds this up. I can't say if heated air would speed up the result, or make shrinkage more or less of an issue.
  7. VS640 printing problem

Some of the VS series data issues were fixed with a firmware update a few years back, but that was more block printing than overspray. In the profiles themselves are ink limits for the colours and for the total. From the editing menu you can print a saturation limit chart, it'd be intersting...
  8. DIY Print Dryer For Ecosol Printer? Show Me Yours...

Customer made a frame of 2x4's, in the shape of a fridge, with coroplast walls. Added a metal grille on the bottom with some plastic core ends as stands. Mounted a box fan with a furnace filter on top of it, and had an open roof. Basically a filtered vertical wind tunnel.
  9. VS 540 Dropping K channel during print

Have you taken off the top few covers to check the ink lines for leakage? The only VS i've seen a break on was a 540, not that it's a common issue. Just follow the ink lines from the head back to the cartridges, you'll see quite a mess in there if one is leaking.
  10. VS640 printing problem

Wow, that old small dot nozzle check is messed bad, head rank makes sense if the voltage or pulse width was waaaaay off. If it still does something like that occasionally it's a data issue, usually a fault of a cable. Which cable? that's the fun part. I find all all the gold head based...
  11. Sp-540 scan motor error 0050 0040 Help pleazz

limit initialize is the same on all print-cut machines. 0050 and 0040 are scan motor errors, 0050 is an abrupt stop, and 0040 is a combo of high load and deviation. Deviation is when the encoder inside the scan motor and the linear encoder aren't giving the same movement values. it can be from...
  12. VS640 printing problem

Getting summoned, this is new :thumb: The nozzle check shows the bias alignment of the head is a bit off, but nothing that would cause overspray that bad. All the nozzles are firing, but the test print in user mode only shows the large dot, in service mode it shows the small dot as well, would...
  13. Roland SP540v ripping but not printing

The IP address in VW should be exactly the same as what is read in Net-tool. Any time i've done a crossover direct connect, i've set the PC a static IP address (eg 192.168.1.101) and the printer a few off from it (eg 192.168.1.125) match the VW printer settings IP address to the one set in...
  14. Roland sp300i cleaning cycle

Possible firmware glitch? updating it if you haven't already is an easy start.
  15. XC 540 printing issue - banding?

doesnt seem to continue into the blue, how does the nozzle check look?
  16. Roland SP540v ripping but not printing

IP address/gateway not assigned on the new laptop?
  17. Roland SP540v ripping but not printing

overly agressive anti-virus program on the new laptop that wasn't on the old one? maybe a firewall blocking it?
  18. Roland SP-300V Banding problem??

Look at the edge of that print, notice the edge moves? Encoder scale is dirty, causing the print to shift. Clean the encoder scale with iso alcohol, you're likely good to go after that.
  19. VS 540 Dropping K channel during print

The only things that can control a single colour on those heads to fail is an empty cartridge (they can go empty and not beep at you), a bad damper, and very rarely a broken ink line. It could be the product of a bad head, but that would be the last avenue to persue. Leaky ink lines are easy to...
  20. Sp540v cut problems, thick lam.

You did the cut calibration, where it cuts that 400mm grid? That would affect the cut over the distance, but what else could be going on is the cut is the correct length, but the print is too long/short. Which one measures accurate?
