  1. Suggestions Hiring a marketing company?

I did the salesman thing a few years ago, it didn't work for me either, I told him I wanted him to target industrial clients, he sold copywritten sports signs to his buddies for their garages...
  2. Suggestions Hiring a marketing company?

I think we have discussed my experience with hiring a marketing company, but thought I would chime in Incase it helps someone else. December of 2023 I decided to hire a company to help me with SEO on my website, I was ranking well for some things, but other products were not ranking very well...
  3. What software are you using for Sigange Designing?

Use whatever program you are most comfortable in, adobe illustrator is the design industry standard, but lots of sign shops use coreldraw or flexi or signlab.
  4. Drytac Vinyls

Thanks Mark, which of their vinyls is giving you issues if you don't mind me asking?
  5. Drytac Vinyls

What is the general concensus on Drytac vinyl? I like that they are made in Canada, and the price point is pretty good, but the sample rolls I've been sent have shrunk signifacantly on the roll, I printed their polar grip media, laminated it and then sliced through the vinyl and left it, in 2...
  6. Red/white blue/white laser cutters

If you only plan on cutting, not engraving, the Chinese ones are decent, you get large bed sizes and powerful tube's, which is the main requirements for laser cutting. Engraving requires better hardware and as a result the Chinese machines need to be run very slowly to compensate.
  7. How Do You Measure the Effectiveness of WhatsApp Marketing?

How do you keep your suit so clean in the shop? Anytime I dress up I end up with paint on me.
  8. Dumb Question - Print Modes

OK, after running a digital printer for 15 or so years, you would think I would know this one, but here it goes. What is the meaning of the number before the resolution in a profile? for example in Onyx, I have 360@720x1440 6 pass, I understand the 720 & 1140 are the X & Y print resolutions...
  9. Vision 1624

Have you set your surface position, or are you using the proxy sensor?
  10. ADA and Braille Liability

It takes the same amount of time & materials to make a compliant sign as it does to make a non-compliant sign, why not do it correctly, I'm sure if they got caught the first thing they would say is "that's what the sign guy sold me, he's the expert, not me"
  11. Easy way to install floor graphics?

How big are they? Spot graphics or multi panel ?
  12. Outsourced some laser engraving - is this quality reasonable?

We engrave tons of these signs, this is absolutely not acceptable, red/white material needs to be engraved twice to remove the pink staining from the text. Also the texture is indicative of running the laser at a low dpi to lower the engraving time.
  13. Cool video showing dbrands phone skin production

It's not that the ink is thick, it's that the circuit board design is raised, so the thickness is inconsistent.
  14. Cool video showing dbrands phone skin production

Actually, now that I think about it, why wouldn't they just get the orange colour custom made by 3M, I'm sure they use enough of it. Also, how would you kiss cut vinyl with that heavy embossing? The knife on the summa is spring loaded so it wouldn't have consistent blade depth on that stuff.
  15. Cool video showing dbrands phone skin production

I wonder how many people they have running these cutters, I think they have around 10-12 f1612 cutters.
  16. Cool video showing dbrands phone skin production

They are not too far from us, our grimco tech told me that they bought all their summa f1612s from them, but they don't allow the grimco tech to touch them, they have an in house guy who dials them in and keeps them running perfectly.
  17. Drywall Anchors

What is the general consensus on the best drywall anchors to use for interior signs? obviously hitting a stud is best, but not always possible. I like the zip toggles for their strength, but some clients get wired when I drill a 1/2" hole in their wall. is there something that is strong but...
  18. Just In Shop Move Starting...

Very cool, thanks for this! Did you ever figure out shipping to Canada? I k ow it has been asked before.
  19. The annual question...how was business this year?

We just finished pur financial year end, we had a 6% increase in profits, but I felt busier than previous years, time to raise prices I guess..
