  1. Possible to apply Braille and tactile lettering directly to the wall?

Typical architect lol. In theory you can place the tactile directly on the painted drywall, but the braille beads will fall out, they are meant to be drilled and installed into a hard base like acrylic which has enough strength to hold them in place by friction. Also how to they propose...
  2. Equipment Redundancy - Bad idea to rely on one printer?

If I remember correctly, you mostly make printed wallpapers etc correct? We have a Epson S80600 for the past 6 years and it's a great machine, but the scratch resistance is not great, it's fine for our uses because we laminate almost everything, but if we were printing wall paper I would be...
  3. Raster and Vector Image Customer Rant

My favorite is when I tell them I can victories their logo for $50, then they send me 1 email a day for the next 2 weeks with a different low resolution raster image asking if this logo will work and save them the $50 charge. Even better when it's a large company and the person you're dealing...
  4. Printing on frosting....

I don;t use the air egress frosting films, whatever time you save on the install you loose having to reassure the client that the air egress line will eventually disapear, in a few months.
  5. Printing on frosting....

I haven't found a frosted vinyl that I can't print on with our eco solvent printers. Also, if your client is looking for a budget option for frosting, matte laminate works well and allows more light in, but still blurs everything like frosted film does.
  6. Considering hiring a full-time salesperson. Any advice?

We have had a full time sales person, it didn't work out for us, my advise would be to spend their salary on online marketing.
  7. Care to share your Epson experience?

HP is the only company who measures head life in amount of ink through them. I have no idea how much I've put through the machine in 6 years, lots.
  8. Care to share your Epson experience?

I've had an Epson s80600 for about 6 years now, we've run a ton of material through it and it's been almost flawless, in 6 years I've replaced 2 Printhead (1 under warranty) at $2500 CAD each, captops once at $600, and a little clear plastic cover over the sensor eye at $6 lol. The printer is...
  9. CNC Engraver in the GTA area

I may be able to help, we don't generally engrave alupanel, but send over the specs and I can take a look. I'm in Hamilton. I'll pm you my email.

I saw this on FB the other day.
  11. Flat Bed Cutter Recommendations

Whale oil beef hooked, I didn't know that was there, thanks I'll give it a shot!
  12. Flat Bed Cutter Recommendations

What options are you able to do in optiscout that you couldn't do in goproduce? There are a few small things that I think could be improved in goproduce, most have to do with the router, I wish there was a way to have the machine pause after it finishes routing, before it advances so you...
  13. Flat Bed Cutter Recommendations

We have a summa F1612, and as a digital cutter it's pretty good, it doesn't take up a huge amount of space, it's quick and very simple to operate. The only downside is the router leaves much to be desired, the software that runs it is very primitive and you can't use regular CNC router...
  14. Thrive

We recently upgraded from thrive 12.2, I asked about upgrading to postershop and was told that it was $200 more expensive than thrive, not sure why. The only reason we upgraded is because 12.2 started printing the summa barcode incorrectly for our f series cutter, so it wouldn't reliably read...
  15. Rant Customer Rant

I've noticed this more and more since COVID, I don't know if it has to do with working from home and not being able to get approvals as quickly. You need to be extra vigilant with your schedule, work backwards from there due date and tell them, "in order to meet your deadline with no additional...
  16. Die cut stickers one or two passes?

I've never heard of anyone doing multiple passes for decals, sounds like something a government sign shop might do.
  17. Question gloss polystyrene?

Clear PETG is very glossy and is thin like styrene, not sure if it's available in white, but depending on the application you could apply white vinyl to the back
  18. With a heavy heart!!

I'm very sorry to hear that, I never met him in person but he helped me out with a few Gerber Edge questions over the years. My condolences to his family.
  19. Suggestions Adhesive for bonding Gator Foam to itself?

I would try hot glue, it works suprizingly well for things like this and dries in about 5 minutes
  20. Roof decal, to be seen from airplanes/satellite

I would be concerned that adding something to the roof will give the roofing company an out on the roof warranty. If it's just for a drone shoot, what about a large banner?
