We have a Summa cutter repair site and I think we're the only Summa dealer that offers this service. There is a "depot assessment" that we offer where you can ship us your cutter for a full evaluation and we test everything including the various electronic boards, motors, belts, sensors, etc...

If you are in fact using a 45 degree blade with your HP cutter(rebranded SummaCut or S1 D Series), that is likely your issue. The 45 degree blades are only available for the Summa tangential models, not the drag knife models, so you're going to want to either use a 36 degree blade for materials...

The cutter you purchased years ago was sold almost immediately after it was returned and evaluated(not an issue on the machine), and hasn't had any issues since it was resold. User error is a lot different than machine failures and the machine was far from a lemon. Best regards, Phil Johnson...
