yes, the wrong profile and media combo will effect the final print in some way or another, no matter how minimal even using the right profile, media, ink combo, scratching is still going to be a possibility without laminate

adjust your margins, you should be able to adjust your margins down on the control panel, also in the rip too, i know on ours 54" media defaults to printing 51.8", we just told it that it is 53" available printing and works just fine
