  1. Skateboard Heat Transfer Material

The carrier film is so thin, and the adhesive is so bitey, that id be afraid to apply it to a 8.5x32.5 surface, even with wet apply. The surface area and curvature of a skateboard makes it such a mistake risk. As far as I’m aware, you have to be setup with clear and white for these, so you’re...
  2. Skateboard Heat Transfer Material

The A/B sheet model would work fine for top of board prints, but the structure of how it’s all made wouldn’t be a my choice for a skateboard. Adhesives fail - bonds don’t. It would work, but it wouldn’t be a comparable. And not to mention the cost to produce, woof.
  3. Skateboard Heat Transfer Material

    Love to hear it!
  4. Skateboard Heat Transfer Material

Yep. If it’s not paint/ink, it just doesn’t feel or perform correctly. It’s gotta smear or flake, not tear or buckle.
  5. Skateboard Heat Transfer Material

haha love it! Excited to see what you've got coming.

  7. Skateboard Heat Transfer Material

That's what I love to hear! I don't know if you're using a rubber laminator or not to marry these, but something tells me a heat assist laminator would get you an even better visual output.
  8. Mimaki UCJV300-160 - Problem Printing Red

The profile for Drytac Retac75 has really good reds. Profiles mean less in UV than they do for Latex or Solvent, since the ink sits on the surface cured, the media profiles are more of a “we believe this works best” if nothing else. Also, set your color management to Adobe1998 RGB &...
  9. Skateboard Heat Transfer Material

I'm not aware of any individual color options in UV yet, but it's a CMYKlclm UV curable ink, in regards to anti slip tape, when it leaves the print head, it falls into the grains and groves of the surface, then the light hard cures it to the surface. Nothing is done after this. It's cut and...
  10. Skateboard Heat Transfer Material

That's because you're using a non surface curing ink technology. I've attached a photo of what we can achieve on UltraGrip via direct to surface, 6 color UV.
  11. Skateboard Heat Transfer Material

We do mostly custom one-off work, so the designs submitted are a little bit of everything.
  12. Skateboard Heat Transfer Material

Jessup UltraGrip. UV is very expensive to get into, and surface printing the anti slip tape is VERY dangerous to the printer and the print heads, which if it's a quality machine, cost thousands. If your current or projected business model can't handle a $1,000-$5,000 mistake at any point, at a...
  13. Skateboard Heat Transfer Material

Hey hey. I have never used that product. Our product has always been direct to surface UV printed, as that's the best way to do it for presentation and image quality.
  14. Skateboard Heat Transfer Material

Absolutely acceptable, and as the youth say, a bop!
  15. Skateboard Heat Transfer Material

Well, if you figure out a better way to do something, have a ball! We very much exist in two different worlds, so our view points do not and do not need to line up. I've left you and anyone else who reads here a lot of very useful and valuable crumbs of information in relation to skateboards...
  16. Skateboard Heat Transfer Material

There's so many now! Thousands of different brands. It's a fun market. Love Vans, has been my shoe of choice for the last 5 years or so.
  17. Skateboard Heat Transfer Material

But the thing is, you don't need a more durable print for a street skateboards - they have a in service life expectancy of 2 weeks to 3 months for someone who is a regular, skilled skateboarder. When I speak on how the print feels in action, I truly just mean how the board slides on rails...
  18. Skateboard Heat Transfer Material

But when there’s a problem that doesn’t need fixed and anyone who knows how to use google can find the supplier who can print them the industry standard way cheaper than you can make them yourself, what’s the point - oh, and like I mentioned prior, you get a supplier when you buy the machine...
  19. Skateboard Heat Transfer Material

To the first comment, there may be a couple, but 99% of us all use the same tech and suppliers, or a re-fabrication of the same exact thing. It's all designed specifically to mimic the same reaction, how it feels to the skateboarder when they skate the skateboard. That goes back to my point way...
  20. Skateboard Heat Transfer Material

Okay. What you see in this video are 100% screen printed heat transfers. The full color ones are CMYK 4 color process (4 screens + 1 screen for white). These ones never touched a printer or a plotter. It's literally just a PET carrier sheet and screen printing ink (maybe that micro adhesive...
