  1. Suggestions fixing banner on chain link fence

I've suggested something similar but the customer "did not like the look". yeah, I know.
  2. Suggestions fixing banner on chain link fence

I need suggestions other than plastic tie wraps to hold a banner on a chain-link fence. It's not a large banner, just 38in x 80in. I've used stainless steel tie wraps before, and even though they are rated for 250lbs, I’ve had issues with them in the past, even on smaller banners. Thanks.

Well, good to know this information and it make sens. My drill is 3 years old but I don't know how old is his. Can you recommend a good milwaukee model?
  6. Need Help Drilling through brick problem

Well, he use a Dewalt (smaller) model and I have a milwaukee m18 fuel small one. The problem is the drill bit are destroyed. So I assume the drill is not the culprit. I never had this kind of problem in 20 years. But if it could be resolved with another drill. Point me a milwaukee that would do...
  7. Need Help Drilling through brick problem

I need help with this. I have some letters to be installed with studs on an exterior brick wall. My installer went there with a hammer drill and wasn’t able to drill through, using 3 drill bits for 3 holes. We ordered some Diablo Rebar Demon drill bits but still couldn’t make a decent hole (used...
  8. Red/white blue/white laser cutters

If you can afford it, get a model with a RF tube instead of glass. More precise and faster. I have a thunder laser 63in/130w with glass tube and like it. They just came out with their RF tubes series. I will probably change my machine for one if they come out with the 63in bed.
  9. Colex SXC1732 vs Esko X24

I'm waiting to have the place and $$$ to get the 5x10 table. But we will definitely go with the colex. The kongsberg looked good but it's a 3 phases machine and we don't have it here. We could buy a transformer but it would cost more than the colex in the end. Plus colex technician is local to...
  10. 3D Printed Dimensional Letters

I've looked at 3D printing to do interior stuff. It was about 2-3 years ago, but the speed was horrible. For example, laser cut a 7in tall ''A'' in 1in thick acrylic take me 4min. It would be faster with a CNC. I would curious how much time a 3D printer would take to create that even if the...
  11. Trim white vinyl job with a fotoba digitrim

Well, I've never thought of the clear premask. Will definitely try it. Thanks.
  12. Trim white vinyl job with a fotoba digitrim

I have 500 white cut vinyl (7inX11in) that will be premasked that need to be cut to pieces. Other than cut it by hand, would there be a way I could trim this with my fotoba digitrim? I'm not sure it would read the white vinyl on the blue backing plus the premask over it.
  13. Kala mistral 1650 heat settings

So my tension on the laminate was at minimum but the tension on my print was at maximum. So it could be the culprit. You're telling me, my temperature should be at 140f and the pressure only at 1 on a kala mistral 1650 for a calendared laminate/vinyl printed with a latex printer o_O? In my...
  14. Kala mistral 1650 heat settings

Thanks for the info. I only print with latex and most of my laminate is calendred. So maybe it's the reason my training guy told me to leave it at 113f. I wasn't aware about the release liner. I'm one of those that leave a ton on the roll. I will definitely check that. In a normal situation...
  15. Kala mistral 1650 heat settings

Thank you. I will double check my tension but I'm pretty sure at a minimum. I have no problem pulling the material when I load the laminate.
  16. Kala mistral 1650 heat settings

I print with a latex printer and the vinyl/laminate are mat calendred. The heat is just for the silvering. I will make some test with heat at a lower temperature. I think I have 3 option down (104f, 94f and 85f). And I will also try no heat at all. Thanks for your input.
  17. Kala mistral 1650 heat settings

So I have a kala mistral 1650 with heat option. On my training, the rep told me to set every lamination to 113F. It worked great for a while. But now, with a new kind of laminating film (in-house brand from a supplier) my final job curl on the inside after the lamination (print side). The rep of...
  18. Small flatbed recommendation.

I own a large format printing business for about 15 years now. We do roll-to-roll and laser cutting/engraving. We specialize mostly in interior signage. I'm looking for a small flatbed printer that have white + varnish capabilities and could print up to 6in thick material. From what I've...
  19. Discussion Summa Drag Knife Flexcut - What settings work best at your shop?

I also have a D160 and making diecut is a struggle. Currently looking at the new S3 with tangential. Just waiting for the right job to pay it off.
  20. Suggestions Small roll to roll UV printer

be careful. a lot of smaller printers are very slow and ink cost is more. So even if the printer is less expensive, the operating cost is very expensive.
