I am going to post 2 pictures. I upgraded to the subscription Flexi and I have a new Mimaki printer. This is one of the first new jobs going through and I have never seen this on my old mimaki with the older software.
.
This file was a pdf file and you can see in one picture the production...
I knew before I even attempted this that it would be troublesome. First I took a square and then duplicated and rotated the second square over the first...centred them to each other and ran the weld that only leaves the middle graphic. Designed the stop sign and printed.
Put down the first one...
I have a new Mimaki printer coming this morning. I need the transition to be fairly smooth to the new machine ( although I know that can never happen lol) .
I currently use Signlab for my day to day sign work. I set just about everything up in Signlab and then export as an eps to the print...
Just about every truck we were on now have on one side the black rubber line between panels..They are about 3/16 thick and are depressed in a bit. I am never sure if I should just leave the vinyl going over them or do I cut them. I can't see the vinyl really sticking properly so cutting them...
It is very strange. My old Mimkai jv3 is on the way out. I am waiting for my new Mimaki...but in the meantime I still need to print..
I have been getting this overspray around certain colours using cyan ink. It's the sort of thing you don't really see unless you look close or with reading...
My JV3 is basically in hospice care right now...every print job is an effort to fight banding and overspray... I have decided I will go with another Mimaki .
Just curious for those that have them, how does the print and cut work? Is it reliable or a pain in the butt? I have a Summa d-140...
Just me and my and my almost dead Mimaki again.
Printed 10 banners for retractables and see a ghosting overspray around one image (bitmap). I am not reprinting as the overspray is very faint but up close you can see it. It is only on one object on the banner and completely surrounded by white...
My 12 year old Mimaki jv3 is just too troublesome these days and I think it is time. I am not excited about having to switch out a printer the way I would have been 10 or 15 years ago. I want to know that I won't have to re-educate myself too much switching printers as I don't have the time to...
I have been seeing this lately from my ancient printer... I have also seen that black prints seem to have some form of overspray onto other colours...very faint mind you...I only seem to see it when wearing reading glasses. The overspray is sometimes there and sometimes not...
My Machine is...
I have never really figured out how to deal with a mask in Signlab 8. I currently have a file and when I view it it looks fine but the wire frame shows a lot of the graphics are more than you actually see. The only way I can figure out how to be able to do anything with the file is to break...
I was led to believe that the enhanced option was used when printing 4 colour or gradients and that normal was the mode to use when printing spot colours. Is this correct?
I never really thought about it before but when you are doing multiple cuts. After each section is done I always have to get up and manually move the plotter forward an inch or so as if I just send the next cut file it cuts right where it finished off. I run Signlab and a Graphtec...
I have no idea how it happens but I seem to be seeing it more and more and have a suspicion that it mainly comes from customers who are forwarding emails using their phones. There is no attachment but the file is visible at the bottom of the page and I have no way of getting it out.
Have a customer who needs to have a decal made that can go on a paver stone for the purpose of indicating where an electrical box is located beneath. the stones will get walked on and they decal will be 3" x 3" . It snows up here so would be also susceptible to snow shoveling. Any...
This is a request I received today. Where on earth would they come up with measurements like that, and what is textured vinyl for a retractable? I assume the customer cut and paste this from a site. anybody know what this product is?
I usually would do this with a version of acrobat that came on 1 of the computers I have had for 10 years. These days either it can't open the files or fails in exporting to high res jpg or tiff with info missing.
Whats an inexpensive software that will do this? I have Signlab and Flexi but...
That title sucks, Not sure how to describe it but lately my printer (mimaki jv3 130spll) is what can only be described as dripping ink at the top of the y axis outside the graphics area. So basically each pass it will have a thin line of black at the top of the vinyl.
I have cleaned the heads...
I can't figure this out. Customer sent me a png file, I set up a proof for a decal in Signlab, sent them a pdf proof and get the job. I send the png, the pdf and I also exported the file as a jpg and a tiff and every time I import it into Flexi it puts a yellow background around the copy...
I had to get a single sided white back pillow cover done for a display that is about 10' x 8'. The people I normally use were jammed so I took it to another large wholesale printer and they came through, but their price for the same item was almost 3 times as high. It puts me in a bind but...
I have a couple of files I can think of that over the years get more and more screwy... I just finished weeding 25 logos for a customer that I have been cutting for well over ten years. They take a long time to cut and are a bit intricate with quite a bit of copy. I can see in this particular...
