  1. Need Help UV ink vs adhesive on coro signs

As mentioned above, sticking vinyl on the coro is what you do when you don't have a flatbed. There is no benefit to you switching to that method over what you currently have. You could make an argument that it's easier to laminate a non-flatbed print for longevity but yard signs are rarely used...
  2. Mutoh Ink type question

Didn't know they were still around. They've been doing it for a long time!
  3. Mutoh Ink type question

When the RJ-900 first came out, there were DX5 heads that had non-solvent resistant manifolds so if you put solvent through them, they would melt. At some point they just got rid of those and started putting solvent DX5 heads in them instead. So most, if not all, current RJ-900's do have solvent...
  4. Mutoh Ink type question

You don't want to use solvent ink in that machine for 2 main reasons. A lot of the parts won't be able to withstand the solvent inks washout failing and there are no heaters. Technically you could convert it to a solvent if you wanted to but it's not really worth it. I'd just stick with what...
  5. Mimaki JV33 - y motor error overcurrent y:peak

Peak - The motor experiences a short, high jump in current that caused it to shut off. It's usually due to a physical obstruction or electrical issue with the motor, regen resistance board. or main board. Ave - The motor's average current is too high indicating drag on the system. Usually...
  6. Prismjet 54gen2 Reviews

That model is the Mutoh 1341SR Pro rebranded. It's the next generation up from your current machine. So learning curve should be minimal. The head is also an upgrade. If you liked the 1324X, this machine should be a nice upgrade for you.
  7. CJV150-107. Doesn't turn on or Auto-Clean ???

Sounds like the circuit that handles power control / sleep mode is broken. Unfortunately that would be the main board that is malfunctioning. The fact that it won't turn on to clean supports that idea as well. It wants to turn on to clean but the broken circuit won't allow it to.
  8. SP-540i: Temporarily use Inside pinch rollers for Outside?

I agree. In this case it's just temporary. I wouldn't run it like that for a long period of time for sure.
  9. SP-540i: Temporarily use Inside pinch rollers for Outside?

The worst that will happen is the media will skew so you might as well try it but keep an eye on it so you don't get head strikes. The outside rollers are tapered to pull the media flat but Mimaki printers only use flat rollers even on the edges and it works fine.
  10. VersaWorks Communication Fail

Check your Windows firewall settings and make sure VersaWorks is allowed to use the network. The fact that windows can ping it and it still won't connect tells me VW is being blocked.
  11. Mimaki JFX200-2513 printhead problem

When was the last time you changed the primary filters? They might be overdue. I would also take a look at the bottom of the head and look for signs of head strikes and/or ink build up that might be affecting those nozzles. Make sure not to use a flashlight unless it has a UV safe filter.
  12. Anyone have a custom trick to track laminate length?

This is the moment your high school math teacher was telling you about all those years ago! lol They also said we wouldn't be carrying calculators around with us everywhere we go though.
  13. Anyone have a custom trick to track laminate length?

If you want to do a little math you can use this formula: L = pi ∗ (OD² / 4 − ID² / 4) / t OD = Outside Diameter of the roll ID = Inside Diameter T = Media Thickness
  14. Credit Card Stolen Number, how did it happen?

These days you have to use up to date encryption to be PCI compliant. The problem is that PCI compliance is a self reporting standard so any merchant can just say they are compliant and it get's filed away somewhere.
  15. Question does "preparing for long term storage" really work?

In my experience a lot of people run longstore but never actually look at the lines to make sure they got properly cleaned out. So that ink stays in the system and makes bringing it back to life difficult. That being said, the success rate for even properly longstored machines coming back to...
  16. Credit Card Stolen Number, how did it happen?

This is why we stopped taking payment over the phone. The weakest link in any system is a human.
  17. Help ! weird problem, black head and cyan head both firing at same time SP300

Does it look like the black is mixing into the cyan in the nozzle check by chance? If so, I'd start with some new dampers and make sure your maintenance tubes aren't clogged.
  18. (Roland VG2) Veresaworks Printing Grey (gray) prints pink - Solution

Grays printing pink or greenish is a very common issue in digital printing. While you can sort of fix it by playing around with settings like you have, the most effective way is to make your own color profiles. The profiles that come with printers or that you download off the internet are just...
  19. Need Help Neon color match

You can't print true neon colors with a CMYK digital printer without some sort of special custom ink set. You could get some neon vinyl and use it as a spot color as a possible solution.
  20. Need Help Print Mimaki/Cut Summa

It won't cut out of Rasterlink. You will need to add Summa crop marks to your design in your design software, print out of Rasterlink, and then cut through Summa's software or some other 3rd party cutting software like Flexi. Rasterlink will only run Mimaki machines.
