  1. Real Estate Signs... Aluminum or ACM?

You guys grommet your acm? We usually just drill holes, never had them rip or anything... Except one time when some dumbass hung a 24in wide by 24 "Ryder," through it and we had a huge wind storm. We don't get much windy weather though so maybe it's just not a problem for our area
  2. Client painted walls with zero VOC ProMar200 before we vinyl the walls...

This is why they make different tac vinyls. We do a lot of hospital work, and they use no voc, anti germ stuff that most vinyls won't stick to.... Wall vinyl and our usual ij40 just fall right off. But we found if we use ij35, it sticks perfect - there are downsides though.... It comes off...
  3. Real Estate Signs... Aluminum or ACM?

We use 3mm alupanel or .081 allum if they want really long lasting.. .040 would be pretty bendy imo for a hanging sign.
  4. Looking for slitter recommendations

Vacuum wouldn't help. The problem is (at least with SAV) is the glue trends to make the dust stick everywhere. The teeth chew up the vinyl, whereas a non teeth blade slices it.... That's why I want to get a non teeth blade one day and see how it does. Production splitters are the same...
  5. Looking for slitter recommendations

We use a sliding miter saw. You tape it up with a few rounds of tape and just cut it down.... We use a fine tooth, but I've wanted to get a non tooth one and see how it does. It's a little rough on the edge, but still works ok. I've looked and looked.for a slitter, they're all for...
  6. Hard wearing mouse-friendly vinyl

Not my desk anymore... So ignore the mess. The whole thing was this shitty marble pattern that looks like it's from the 50s. We had some leftover.dinoc from a job so I wrapped it, just checked and I only see one scrape in the corner.... Which may have been my shitty install job
  7. Weird Cutting issue on my GRAPHTEC. What the heck is this????

Is it cutting line by line, orndod it cut that u at the end? I've had it happen where it cut every letter BUT the insides.... Cut like 7 ft of letters, went back to do the insides and the material shifted and ended up cutting way off. Theretically you should be able to cut something, have...
  8. Hard wearing mouse-friendly vinyl

Dinoc is great, expensive but great. We have completely done interiors of buildings and upgraded them from looking like they were from the 70s to a completely modern look. We've done a few yacht interiors as well, you can completely change the look of something and the material is very...
  9. leading manufacturer of pvc banner, sav, pvc tarpaulin from China

Korean banner is way better than Chinese banner!
  10. Hard wearing mouse-friendly vinyl

Would a floor lamp not have anti slip properties to it? In which case it may last longer.... But people don't want anti slip to mess with their mouse gliding id think. I've never tried it, so I don't know how much of a difference it'd make... Maybe not enough to be an issue in an office...
  11. Hard wearing mouse-friendly vinyl

Look into architectural film. It's way thicker and built to withstand use like this. 3m has dinoc, not sure about the rest... It's expensive, but it's whole purpose is to last a long time in high use situations.
  12. Laser cutter engraver questions.

We looked into it, our machine was offered the braille option by Multicam when we first got it... I've talked to them half a dozen times about them adding it, but they say theyll look into it and never get back to me. Looking into it it uses a chuck thats slightly bigger than the max our...
  13. Laser cutter engraver questions.

We do probably a dozen lamacoid orders a month to that we outsource... Maybe 10 signs an order? So let's say 120 signs a year. We get charged a $45 proof fee for each order.... Then like $30 per sign, and we're talking small 2-3" by 10" signs. So $400 per order x 12...about $4800 a year? Not...
  14. Laser cutter engraver questions.

My buddy has a trotec, and I liked it so I bought an omtech. Trotecs... Just work. All the cut settings and everything is pre done, it has a nice camera.... Good support, decent software. It's the cadilack of lasers. The. You have omtech. A 100 watt tube could be 110 watt, or 90 watt ...
  15. I've been Asked to be a Contractor

Those are the people that price you out of a job. print time, finishing time, travel time, cleaning time, application time, aproval time... you're probably looking at a full days worth of work, for $280. Theres a lot of people around here who will do it at that price... just to get their foot...
  16. I've been Asked to be a Contractor

Slippery slope.. I started with a graphtec in my basemeent, now I have 2 wide format printer, laser cutter, and a graphtec... Once you see how much money you can make, its worth it! I'd say go for it. Personally... I'd tell them if they let you have the plotter / everything else for XX...
  17. Ever seen an a frame/sandwich board like this from a supplier?

shipping ends up being like a grand. Unless you're bringing in containers...buying off alibaba direct isnt worth it, I was selling hundreds of A frames and I worked it out that I'd save $3 a frame on an order of 100 frames buying direct...then I have to deal with quality issues and all the...
  18. Ever seen an a frame/sandwich board like this from a supplier?

https://www.displaycanada.ca/products/swing-board-metal-a-frame-sb-board040-white there's a few places that sell similar. Displayscanada isn't really wholesale, so it's probably more expensive - check out futech / beston... They carry it and only deal with trade pricing, so they're probably...
  19. Suggestions Cutting .04 aluminum

What bit are you using? And what CNC? With the right it the edges should be fine.... Our edges only get jagged or sharp if our bits dull, or if the aluminum isn't being held down right and vibrating.... Then it needs sanding. But generally, no, you don't need to sand aluminum down
  20. Printing A Color Swatch Table For Reference.

So this is what we use. I dont remember when I generated it... I'm sure its missing some of the fancy pantones of the month crap. It's using a cutline called "Perf", so you may have to set that up in your onyx / if its not default. Or it'll print with the purple line, and you can just...
