After initially reading this post I took some 3 ml vinyl and I used 8 different sharpies and made boxes and filled them in. One side I applied a 3ml laminate and then stuck the decal on my garbage bin which faces south. That was July 30th. Within a few days incredible amount of fading on both...
I'm going to do a test now. My back door faces south. Gonna see just how long they last with a calendered laminate and no laminate and finally a cast laminate
Just curious about the Sharpie. If you were to use it to cover a small blemish, then laminate the print...would not the laminate protect the sharpie ink for at least some amount of time?
I have been using Jet Best for over 4 years now and have found that they are better than OEM as far as durability (scuffing) and I seem to be able to get a better colour range. I will say the ink is a little messier on the wiper and capping station but that might just be my printer which is...
I use version 8 but pro version with no rip. zLike I said depending on how they were made sometimes they come in OK and other times you have to look very carefully as things change
I have learnt the hard way that my Flexi for print has a nasty habit of defaulting to different fonts and ignoring transparencies.. Better safe than sorry. I would rather convert to a bitmap so that all is as should be.
I usually would do this with a version of acrobat that came on 1 of the computers I have had for 10 years. These days either it can't open the files or fails in exporting to high res jpg or tiff with info missing.
Whats an inexpensive software that will do this? I have Signlab and Flexi but...
Today I went under and checked with a high powered LED light and sure as shlt I find a little piece of scrim thread mixed with lint hiding behind the black head..... sheesh
I never did anything except put a roll of cheap vinyl in and now it is printing perfectly.... Yes I know a hair or lint will create havoc, but I cleaned it all yesterday so I know that it is not anything to do with outside interference.. I mean possibly that other roll of vinyl (good...
That title sucks, Not sure how to describe it but lately my printer (mimaki jv3 130spll) is what can only be described as dripping ink at the top of the y axis outside the graphics area. So basically each pass it will have a thin line of black at the top of the vinyl.
I have cleaned the heads...
I enjoy sports when it matters... I love baseball but with a 162 game season, every game seems so meaningless. Football on the other hand has such a short amount of games almost all are important. I still watch golf every weekend if it is raining or miserable out, and I love the majors and...
I removed every screw that got in my way and they all went in perfectly and tightened well. This was a new trailer. The screws never spun the vinyl although I know what your saying as I have seen that happen with individual letters...wrap is a little different. Graphic looked great and the...
I do work with one of the many new cannabis companies up here in Ontario. Within walking range of my shop , there facility must be 100,000 sq ft and they only process the oils there. They have greenhouses down near Niagara Falls and grow all their own plants. A huge industry has sprouted from a...
I took the original png file then saved it as a pdf file then opened it in acrobat and exported it back out as a jpg. Finally came in with no yellow backing.
Glad it all worked out Gino. My blood boils when I have to deal with stuff like that. Think about all the vinyl and prints you throw out because it is your mistake....not like you can charge for it... I don't want to pay for the clients mistake, but if they give you as much as you say I...
