  1. CANON OCE 1650 Printer Lamination Not Needed?

You’re not going to find a UV flatbed that will gloss like the Colorado does. HP R1000 finishes the same sheen as the substrate I'm pretty sure. that's your best bet.
  2. Is my pricing too high for printed vinyl?

Won’t get much out of it for a printshop. Unless vehicle/fleet graphics is your core.
  3. Question HP latex, speeding up printing time with out sacrificing quality

Realistically no. Faster you print at, the more grainy the print will look and probably get banding. Try and find out...
  4. Is my pricing too high for printed vinyl?

This is where she needs to do the math and see if it's worth it. Yeah if she wants, and knows there's still a profit to be made with charging $2.7 sq/ft and the printer isn't doing much. Then she could take the job, run the printer, make something off it. That should be about 2 hours to...
  5. Is my pricing too high for printed vinyl?

This is correct too. But it depends how bastardised the product is. If everyone is going it at $2 sq/ft, then you should be around there too. If you're at $4 and everyone is around $2- $3 then you'll find it harder to get the jobs at $4.
  6. Discussion Pricing your print/jobs/installs >>MEGA Thread<<.

I have access in office 365. I never really knew what it did till this year to be honest.. And after playing with it, i think it would be real useful. But i wont do any developments in access as i have no use. Excel calc works for us as our database and system is in OPS now.
  7. Thoughts on wall printers?

Dude just way up the pros and cons of every way to do the job. That will give you a proper answer. That's how investments are made. Not by buying a toy that you want, but knowing there's a better, cheaper way of doing the job.
  8. Is my pricing too high for printed vinyl?

If the pricing their asking for is cheaper than a trade printer. don't waste your time. The quoted supplier is undercutting and probably wont be in business for long. I see this a lot.
  9. How much more ink does a 12 pass use than a 4 pass?

Higher passes uses smaller ink droplets. Each pass isn't as dense as when using larger ink droplets. Lower passes = More grainy prints Higher passes = Less grainy prints. Ink should be about the same. Unless your more passes is maxing out on how much ink the printheads can laydown, that will...
  10. Discussion Not sure where this is all coming from..............................................

This. No matter what the job is, it's simple math in understanding on what it costs to manufacture, what overheads you have and how much you need to make on the job. There's absolutely nothing wrong with looking at what others charge as some products have higher premiums and some have small...
  11. Discussion Pricing your print/jobs/installs >>MEGA Thread<<.

That's pretty neat. Im not against file maker or anything, i've looked at it in the past. I only chose excel due to 99% of people already using it or already paying for it with MS word.
  12. Aluminum Welding

It depends how strong you want it to hold and how good you want it to look. You can use a TIG Which is the most common method. Or use a MIG with a spool gun. And it also depends what it is as aluminium needs to stay hot to weld properly. Aluminium being aluminium, a good heat sink, keeping...
  13. Polished edges on acrylic

You can find someone to laser cut them for you. This also costs more. Or You can flame the edges with a torch.
  14. Discussion Pricing your print/jobs/installs >>MEGA Thread<<.

I can't edit the first post, so here's the link. This is the "lite" version. It's a no frills calculator. Print price calc V1 LITE All it will do is price up what it costs you to print a job. There's instructions inside. I've disabled all the cells so you cannot accidently click and alter...

  16. Discussion Pricing your print/jobs/installs >>MEGA Thread<<.

I wish there was a one size fits all. I do my best for a 1 size fits all, but even we need to use our calc + additional formulas for other specific products. But to answer your question, yeah it works for 1 offs or 2x., Or even 1000x As calculator allows for a minimum charge. I can even set...
  17. Discussion Pricing your print/jobs/installs >>MEGA Thread<<.

I've heard of printsmith, by EFI? There's a lot of variables people tend to forget, or lose track on how to adapt a formula to their pricing structure. It's easy to follow someone else's method, but coming up with the method takes a lot of time. If i wanted to use excel for quoting. I could...
  18. Discussion Pricing your print/jobs/installs >>MEGA Thread<<.

I guess where it comes down to for me is more so helping those who are starting out, using what you have available. Im sure i could go get a subscription of FileMaker pro, create it all in there, but it's no use to me. All our business is now online. All our products, pricing is online. Our...

I appreciate your questions. Please remember, this is a Calculator to create product pricing. To be used how the user wishes to use. It's something, rather than nothing. Especially for those who don't even know where to start pricing their prints. I'll do my best to continue to answer your...
