Yeah if I do any work at all; I’m getting paid for it. You wouldn’t go into a restaurant and get them to make you a steak so you can look at it before you ordered one.
So I’ve been creating my own profiles since we switched to onyx with great results. I haven’t had any formal colour management training (and that’s now been postponed due to the worldwide shutdown).
BUT, this should give me a bit time to get all my media’s profiled and get a few different print...
We have every customer sign an authorisation form that includes an invoice address. That basically states they’ve authorised us to proceed with design/print on a job and that they will be charged accordingly. Then after we’ve designed a job if they don’t proceed or get back to us with amendments...
We do pretty much all of ours on the inside of the window. Though I guess if you have an outdoor rated vinyl and want it to be easily viewed from the outside as cleanly as possible. The outside couldn’t hurt.
We’ve actually had quite an influx of work over the last couple days. A few decent sized orders came through so far, though with that came the old “we don’t need these in a hurry”.. I.e. just clearing their budgets before they close.

I realise it’s a different machine but probably the same idea
Just an update, we ended up going for a flexa miura 2 cutter - the quote we got was insanely cheap! (Around 1/4 of the Fotoba)
we got the one without the XY alignment, I’ve cut approx 6 rolls of so in the last week and haven’t had any issues with alignment or any more than 2mm of skew across a...
Not familiar with the ink cartridge size/prices but surely leaving the HP’s in sleep mode can’t use that much electricity?
for arguments sake we’ll say the inks are $100 each and you need 4 per printer. That’s $1200 worth of ink that you’re prepared to lose - surely you’d pay less than that on...
My biggest worry is that Italy has 2x the number of intensive care beds as the UK and those filled up VERY quickly.
Sure, the death rate is only 2% now (haven’t actually checked the most recent rate, don’t judge me) BUT when all the hospital beds are full and all the ventilators are already in...
Ours has mostly been them sending emails to say that even though China is closed we’ve not to panic buy all the stock!
The sales guy has left us alone for a bit though so that’s ideal!
Yeah plenty room for making this situation into some money. We just got a huge roller banner order for loads of hospitals with COVID-19 info.
Probably a lot of luck needed here though, or need to have already created the relationships to get such orders.
Just been to a supermarket. Pretty much every useful shelf was empty. Meats, TP, pasta etc. Alcohol completely wiped out too but that’s likely just a Scotland thing..
The real bad news is my other half has been trying to get me to try a vegan month for a while now and it just so happened that...
Not looking forward to my finances being a complete shambles.
nothing to do with lost work, I just heard that 88 couples in China got out of quarantine then immediately filed for divorce!
The good news is I had thurs/fri off, back today to organise some bits and pieces then back off tomorrow and managing to stay caught up. More time in bed for me!
How big is it? For a one off I’d probably just cut the whole thing out as if it was all the text colour, remove the black underline, then cut your own red one and stick that on. Transfer the whole thing. Naturally there’s a fair bit more wastage that way so it’s only really practical if it’s...
If it “always” takes more time than it looks/you’ve estimated. Don’t you think you should look at how you’re estimating? Clearly there’s something going wrong there.
