    Welcome back!
  2. Question MY NEXT PRINTER PROJECT...

I have an Epson 70675 for sale at a great price right now. Trying to make room in the shop. PM me if you're interested, we are located near Cincinnati, OH.
  3. How Is This Decal Made And Installed?

You could make these with a Gerber Edge. Reverse print on polycarbonate (LexEdge material). Color then a white flood print, then you "laminate" the adhesive (3M 467/468) onto the rear and plot them. We make a lot of similar decals for the government and specialty industries.
  4. Onyx Conserve media not conserving media

Are you sure that the graphic doesn't have a random point floating around somewhere else off the canvas or wherever making the size larger than it should be? Adjust the spacing between prints maybe?
  5. Question Do old printers still have value?

There's not much value at all to older machines, especially to anything approaching 10 years old. There's not much manufacturer support (drivers), tech support, or parts/ink availability for many of them, and those that still have it will be phased out over the next few years. Really it is best...
  6. Any experience with prepasted products and butt joints on a latex printer?

I cannot speak for the R-series, but our S-series printers have a great material feed calibration tool built into them. I'm assuming the R-series is the same.
  7. Any experience with prepasted products and butt joints on a latex printer?

I would not be concerned about the material itself shrinking, most of those materials offer zero stretch. However, I would be very concerned about the ability of the latex to achieve constant material feed between panels. I have heard of many times where the size of the panel varies from the...
  8. Best Printer for Full Print Wraps

This is an OLD thread, tech has came a long way in the past few years. FWIW.
  9. Adobe CC Licensing Error

We have that same exact issue on one of the older (Windows 7) computers in the office here, thankfully they only use Acrobat. I tried uninstalling it thinking the install was corrupt, but then they couldn't log in/download the app installer again. We just replaced the computer at the end of...
  10. Wrapping with reflective

Print the stripe over size, and lay down some knifeless tape first along the correct size. Then you should be able to work the stripe in without stretching it and still have good straight lines.
  11. Looking for 3M SV480mC?!?!

Seriously, we've had rolls on order for months now. You might want to look for alternative materials that will work for what you're doing.
  12. Sign Tape?

Body shops use a very similar, but blue, tape. fine line or pinstriping tape.
  13. Oraguard 290M 54x50 Need 10 rolls

When I need a product that I can't find through the normal vendors I always call Trigon Imaging. I am not sure where you're located though, so it may not be an option.
  14. Free Stuff For Y'all

This is a template for a Renegade by Rance Enclosed Car Trailer. 10% Scale. It really does get shorter in the front.
  15. How do you handle color matching with clients?

1st get a Pantone Color Bridge swatch book. That shows you and the client the difference between a true spot color ink and what the closest a CMYK-based printer can achieve. That sets everyone's expectations. Then find or make your own Pantone color chart in your standard application, using...
  16. Need Help jackshaft gear issues

I have also had what you think would be an insignificant spec of crud on a gear lock a motor up. The tolerances on these machines are so tight that something like this can cause it to not perform correctly.
  17. Need Help jackshaft gear issues

Sounds like your motor is bad if I am reading this correctly. When they go bad they lock up when powered up. (If I remember correctly)
  18. 3M Blue Tape alternative

We use the green 3M tape here, from Uline, no idea on the cost difference though.
  19. BN-20 20" Material

Call Trigon Imaging, they can get your rolls slit to width. I'm assuming you're in the USA?
  20. 3M 823i retroreflective wrapping

We have used 3M IJ680CR-10 for many many years and if you are careful you can apply it like a wrap in most cases. We purchased a roll of 3M IJ 780 and had a LOT of issues with edges lifting and peeling. 3M ended up giving us a refund for the roll and we have stuck with the 680 ever since.
