  3. roland down and we have a large order

Might be dumb question. Why print, laminate and cut and weed ? Why not just print laminate and apply to the mag. Skip the weeding and tapeing part
  4. Temporary Exterior Sign

Others have offered some good suggestions. I don't think a job like this about substrates it's about end result. For example sign shop A can provide a nicely seamed whatever ac whatchamacallit and sign shop B can do a no seem whatchamacallit that is cheaper than sign shop A Then there is sign...
  5. ***AUCTION*** 24x12 & 12x18" 3mm Aluminum Composite

I pitch that much worthless scrap in the dumpster on a daily basis. If you or anyone else think it is worth something feel free to come dumpster diving. If you have no need for it like I have no need for it how is this a steal for someone ? These kind of ludicrous offers from merchants bug me.

  7. Wraptacular

Glad I'm not down in that cesspool of work and customers. At the rate these rappers are going you will be paying the customer for the privilege of working for them. Keep up the good work and let us know when you will be closing and selling your printer.
  8. Sign van!

I have always used vans with a glass rack attached could not live without. We throw the signs onto it and roll out
  9. Help pricing sign..

I dunno. I'm doing a 2x3 right now for $3,500 but it's probably a different kind of sign. If it is a restoration I would want more because it is a specialty. If you want to specialize in old sticker restorations (OSR) then charge the standard osr rate. I would suggest staying away from this...
  10. drilling holes

In case you guys don't know there are bits for plastic. They have a different angle point and spiral. Clean perfect holes http://www.mcmaster.com/#plastic-cutting-drill-bits/=u0ay0b
  11. Scissors

Very cool I love seeing and doing these kinds of projects. It's amazing the stuff that imagination and a properly setup sign shop can produce. Software and a cnc are my favorite toys. I still love making signs but after 25 years some of the work bores me. It's jobs like this that re-charge...
  12. Since you guys love being brutally honest!

    thanks for the laugh
  13. Help choosing laminator

Mark you are obviously a sign making professional. Curious as to why you would recommend a roll laminator before a flatbed. I would like like to hear your thoughts on this.
  14. Help choosing laminator

I got a Chinese one. Search the forums there is a thread about my experience dealing with china and buying from them.
  15. Help choosing laminator

Anybody out there with a flatbed have any problems with their machine not doing its job each and every time without failure ? Roll to roll laminators are going to be a thing of the past very soon. Unless of course you are doing 150' runs all the time Most shops on this forum are doing small...
  16. Who is the old guy with the brush in his hand?

Nice work ! Took me a few minutes to figure out what was strange in the photos Never really saw a southpaw swinging a mop. Again nice work Keep strokin it.
  17. What the heck do you call this thing?

I think the technical term "squiggle"
  18. Laminating Issue

All roll to roll laminators are a PIA. The vendors who sell the printing machines and laminators are misleading you the uninformed and un educated new-be. If you are a small shop doing one off prints I think the best laminator is a flatbed like a Rolls Roller. They pay for themselves in short...
  19. A couple of signs finished this past week

Nice ! Your work is awesome ! I never worry about the gozillion shops that are always opening and closing in my area but I would definitely worry if you moved into my hood. Keep up the good work and please don't relocate near me.
