Head soak:- move the head of the capping station, get a couple of pieces of lint free cloth roughly the size of the capping pad.
Soak the cloth in solvent cleaning solution or the solution in the cleaning cartridges and move the head back over it.
The amount of time you leave it can vary, I...
It has been a while since I updated the computers and the amount of moaning I am getting from staff I can't stand it no more!!!!
Help!
We are running Signlab 9.1, Corel, Adobe, Etc.
Obviously budget is an issue as I am buying three units.
I just need a rough spec. as I will either buy something...
Hi
Also in the UK and after yesterdays storms a quieter morning.
Yes you need Solvent based DX4 heads of which I think their are either 3 or 4 off them in your machine.
Be prepared to be shocked by how much they cost though!
Later machines with the DX5 (Valuejet) print heads are now a more...
I fitted an aftermarket one about 10 months ago and still going strong.
Only issue I had was the wiper was a lot stiffer than original and was flicking ink everywhere but was easily replaced.
Huge saving over original, and to look at an exact copy.

We had similar issues with a certain roll of vinyl last year and no matter how much you turned the heaters down (or even off) it appeared.
Their is not enough adhesive on the vinyl to keep it on the backing sheet.
Phone your supplier and return or replace the roll.

I would guess a dirty encoder strip.
I cleaned the strip on our 1604 and it sems to be running OK again.
Clean gently with isopropyl alcohol and a lint free cloth.

I would second the contamination issue yellow and cyan are next to each other (making green).
It looks like the cyan has contaminated the yellow line.
It is normally the sponge on the capping station poking through the mesh causing it to wick between colours.
I would check their is nothing on or...
I am getting a E074 Err CR2 Current every other morning when I come in to my VJ 1604.
The machine is put in standby mode every night before I go home and runs faultless during the day.
If I turn off the machine and turn back on the error has gone.
Should I clean the encoder strip with some...
We have for a very long time used Signlab to design in and then saved as a level3 EPS to print from Wasatch.
This has worked well and the colours are exactly right printing from wasatch rather than signlab.
The issue if I save a EPS then do some changes and save again both the original design...
We have a company nearby that is churning cheap crap out also.
The big problem due to the economic climate and customers being tight is:-
They is are gatting awai wid it oll the tiem.!
Seems at the moment the only factor is price.
Not quality, Not consistency, Not design or anything...
I presume you have the 75% for this installation?
The other 25% is not due till after the work is finished as you stated "25% when complete the job"
The real issue doesn't start until the checque for the 25% bounces!
Yes their is an issue with the coroplast sign but that is a different issue.
I...
Does it power up?!!
Has the machine been stored with the cleaning/flush cartridges installed if so their is a small possibility of resurrecting the print head?
If not the machine will need to be flushed and the dampers and print head replaced along with the print head cable.
I now reckon that...
I think this is an encoder disk error.
Take off the cover of the left hand side (looking from front).
There is the PF Disk encoder. On top is the encoder sensor.
The Encoder disk may be dirty, clean with alcohol.
Also with the machine turned off and powered down pull material through the machine...
