We use the clear mostly on vehicles. Store fronts, not so much. On vehicles, it lets you see out when its raining. If not then the holes fill up and you can't see out at all.
I have been doing the screw in the lid of my lettering enamels for over 15 years. I rarely get a skin and use all the paint. I use a 1/2'' long self tapping screw with a washer tacked on the top. When i'm done with a can of paint the screw goes into the new can. The picture shows a few of my...
So it wasn't Gatorfoam brand? What is Gatorboard? Is it the same as Gatorfoam? We use a lot of Gatorfoam here and sometimes foam core for short term use.
It's not too common to see them here. We are 2 blocks from the city center area. But there was woods around the Jefferson Laboratory up until recently. Must have scared them out. This area had a bad Feral cat problem here a few years ago. I would come to the shop on a weekend and they would be...
I spoted one of these guys the other day running by neighbors shop, I've seen 3 since then. They are currently ripping wooded sections out nearby for Lidl store, near the Jefferson Labs.
I agree with Gino on the steel frame. My experience is that steel frames cause more damage in the long run. I think it's probably due to the different rates of expansion.
This was the pic. that the awning guy sent me. I think maybe it is painted on. They just wanted it to match that lettering again. I rarely use anything like that and didn't have anything close to those D's. Maybe I will show them what I have and hope they go for it.
I have used All Wood sign blanks before in a pinch. They are ok, mostly made up of 3'' strips but it is vertical grain. Doesn't quite have the feel of a 2 x 12 built sign. Harbor sales stocks some of their supply for east coast shipping. Even if their site says not in stock I would still call them.
We do several museums in our local area. Many years before we started doing them they ran into vinyl falling off the walls. I got my foot in the door after making some sidewalk signs for one. After seeing the vinyl falling off walls, it was all applied to flat paint. Most museums like the flat...
Yikes. I can tell you from experience that sitting a couple months is bad, unless it was shut down properly. I know a guy that let one sit a few weeks unplugged and it was a pain. It did come back after a lot of wasted ink run through it doing maintenance. There is prob. a better way to flush...
